I met with Lisa about a custody issue and I have never had a lawyer as helpful as her. Would definitely work with her in the future.

When something as devastating as a divorce happens, you need to have a clear-thinking, objective, sensitive advocate for what remains of the relationship. Instead of the regular court-centered procedures, we opted for mediation with Lisa Derr. She worked with us to help US control the out outcome and allow us to work out the way to start out apart from each other. Our separation-turned-divorce was very complicated, with children, a business we co-owned, a farm, and way too many "issues". Yet Lisa provided the structured framework to tackle the issues, and her flexibility and patience, along with her great people skills, helped us get through this terrible time. She also had a network of support that could lend the expertise we needed in untangling tax issues and other problems that needed solving. I have reccommended Lisa to friends who found themselves in this confusing mess of a broken marriage. She brings strength, compassion, knowledge and expertise to the table, and keeps both parties focused on what needs to happen.

Lisa Derr (of Derr & Villarreal, LLC) turned my ugly divorce into an civil and courteous experience. Instead of punishing each other through lawyers, my ex and I still speak to each other and have learned to argue less. Lisa pushed us to understand each others' veiwpoints without insulting our intelligence. She helped us to figure out a parenting plan that puts our child first but still leaves room for both of us to live our lives seperately. Lisa also made herself very available and readily accomodated both of our schedules. On a personal note, Lisa was there for me when my lawyer bailed and I had legal questions that I could not find the answers to. She also made me feel comfortable by listening to everything I had to say without interrupting. I reccommend Lisa Derr without reservation and am extremely pleased with the high level of service that she provided to me.
