Place looks nice. Woman giving us a tour was nice but not helpful or knowledgeable. The guy who was supposed to talk with us about signing up was very rude. Kept us waiting for a while and when he showed up he only asked if we are going to sign up now. No introduction, answers to questions, or even a simple hello. I've heard rumors about some of the staff and I guess it's true. Update: One week later I dealt with a different worker and she was very polite and helpful. She explained everything and helped us sign up. Upgrading to 4 stars.

This is the best gym/health club in which I've ever been! They have everything from indoor track to an indoor pool. They also have an excellent smoothie bar, tanning salon, sauna, racquetball courts, beach volleyball court next to the pool outside and even workout classes and an extensive and updated free weights area and cardio machines! It's top notch and they have wonderful pricing! I've been a member for over five years and I haven't found another gym with the amenities and customer service that the Desoto Athletic Club possess.

I wish it allowed 24 hour access. I thought when I joined I would be shown around the gym and the equipment would be explained. Instead I got a sales pitch to join classes. I usually just try to figure new machines or ask someone nearby.

The DAC in South haven does not have a written policy for members that would like to bring guests to the athletic club. On Thursday, June 29,2017. My son, his friend and I went to the DAC to work out. My son's friend is a minor and I knew from a previous conversation with a staff member that I needed a parent signature for my son's friend to work out at the club. My son's friend mother came to the club to sign the parental consent form. The DAC membership team addressed my son's friend mom on the procedures for her son's admittance to the club. On Friday, June 30th, the next day my son and his friend decided to work out again. (This was dead week for football) My son, his friend, and I approached the front desk, his friend was asked his age, he told the staff that he was 16 years old. The staff told us that he could not work out unless he paid a 35.00 fee. I told the staff member that my son's friend mother went through an orientation with the membership staff and that a 35.00 fee was not mentioned for my son's friend to work out. The membership staff member that oriented my son's friend mother was at the club on that day. I spoke with her about the lack of communication, and she lied and stated that the information was given to us. I expressed to the staff member if that information was given to us my son's friend would not have been there for 35.00 for one day. I asked the membership staff member if the 35.00 fee for guest was in my contract. She stated, "I don't know". I proceeded to explain to her, that there were no signs posted in the club that there was a 35.00 fee for guests. I asked her that if there was a 35.00 fee for guests why was the information not posted or in writing. The membership staff member could not answer the question. She became irritated and asked me to leave the office. Despite, I am a paying member of the club. I was not loud, rude or violent, and I asked her why was she asking me to leave. she gave no response. I conversed with the DAC in Collierville,TN, which has the same owner, that club told me that they had never heard of that policy. I spoke with the operations manager, and it was stated that, their support was with the membership staff member and a 35.00 fee was a policy for guests. My concern is if there is indeed such a policy why is the policy not in writing or posted in the club. Walmart, Target, Amazon etc. have policies on receipts and posted. The DAC does not have a policy about guest fees to the athletic club posted. That's strange
