Story

With a current enrollment just over 9,600 students, DeSoto ISD is a small but growing, suburban district 15 miles south of Dallas in north Texas. The 23 square mile district serves students in DeSoto, Glenn Heights and Ovilla with 12 campuses.

The mission of DeSoto ISD is to prepare each student academically and socially to be a problem solver and productive citizen for a 21st century global society.

I am a teacher who has taught in DeSoto ISD for 12 years. I am proud of the high standard and integrity of those in administration and throughout the faculty and staff. Some of my very best friends work with me in this school district. The district is not perfect in every single category, and that is ok. There is a plan, a clear mission, a goal and the trend arrows are moving in the appropriate direction. This district certainly shines bright.

This school district is run by the "educated ignorant" that continue to use violence against young people with their perverse corporal punishment rituals. Throughout most of our country we are trying to stop bullying and violence, but here they cannot progress with the rest of 21st century America, so they promote the violence. It is past time for those that abuse others to lay their damn wooden weapons down. Unbelievable Outrageous abuse still going on in the backwoods of Texas.

The DeSoto ISD should be ashamed of itself for allowing the volleyball team to disrespect the police, the anthem, the flag and the country.  Those students should be disciplined, and any adults participating should be fired.  The principal of DeSoto High should be fired in any case.
