History is so much better when you experience it.  The amazing volunteers that teach you of the history in this very clean, prestige location of Hernando Desoto landing deserve all the praise.

Another great National facility. Good recreations with demonstrations and excellent film. Very balanced presentations. Great nature walk. No admission fee.

My family loves it here for a walk through the mangroves and the perfect little beach.  We are here almost every weekend. Our 2 1/2 year old thinks it's his.

This is a public park/nature trail with a few displays. It's a very nice trail. See what the natural habitat looks like. Contemplate the impact of Spaniards meeting the native peoples. This place is very nicely laid out with a very walkable trail and nice displays. Multiple access points to the coast and ample parking. For a free experience, this is a very highly recommended place.
Oh, if you go up the road you might find cars parked to the side. This is an early entrance. Keep driving forward and you'll see the main parking loop.

Amazing trails and facilities. No beach, but a great place to put a paddleboard in (Robinson's preserve is also accessible from this launch).
