I really have nothing bad to say about the quality of Rita's cakes. Rita however, I could stand never having to interact with her again. 

I placed an order with one of her staff members a couple weeks ago. While there with my excited three year old, Rita snapped at my son with more viciousness than I've ever heard from a total stranger. He was very excited to be in a cake store, as any three year old would be. Rita was having technical difficulties with her credit card machine and we were patiently waiting. This did not stop Rita from snapping at my son when he was loudly pointing at the different cakes. 

When we came back to pick up our cake, I was a little disappointed about the size (it was my mistake to have ordered such a small cake) and I essentially said this when she asked me what I thought. I was very polite and told her that it was just fine. This apparently wasn't cool with her, because she got very defensive and started pointing at the order form shouting about six inch cakes. I told her it was all good and that I had no problem with the cake. 

While waiting to pay, my three year old was of course very excited about the cakes, once again, and Rita once again took it upon herself to yell at my child. 

I'm not sure if she's just one of these wacko right wingers who thinks the way to deal with stranger's kids is to yell at them, or if I just happened to catch her on two different bad days, but either way, I won't be bringing my business back.

Birthday cakes, cupcakes, single slices... These are serious desserts. The most moist cakes and best buttercream ever.

We got married at The Vandiver Inn on Sunday October 8th 2017. By choosing this venue we chose to have Desserts by Rita be the ones to make our wedding cake since they have the partnership with The Vandiver. Neither my now husband or I had had anything from them before this point so I think fairly so we were a little uncertain. However they are amazing. Their cakes are not only beautiful but they are delicious. The flavor is amazing, the icing is perfectly sweet, and the cake is as moist and delicious as can be. We could not have gotten a better cake if we tried. They were also super helpful and wonderful. They did everything we asked and the cake was amazing. My other favorite part is that they don't use fondant. It is all buttercream and it was amazing. Definitely recommend them to everyone.

Delicious cakes here.  We are getting married at the van diver inn in Havre De Grace.  They have a deal to make wedding cakes with this shop when you have your event there.  So we get a custom wedding cake included which is convenient.  The owner was really nice and helpful deciding on the flavors that we were going to pick too.  Highly recommended.

Made a beautiful, delicious castle cake for my daughter's birthday. Everyone loved it!
