With the ease of booking your own vacations nowadays, I haven't used a tour company in years.  But I'm glad I used Detour Destinations for my trip to Peru!

I had a very small window from the time I booked to the departure day and the travel advisor (Layna G.) was able to put together an itinerary that fit my schedule, my expectations and my pocket book!  I was able to finalize and paid on Monday and left that Wednesday.  I don't recall ever going on a 2-week trip with that short of a window.

When everything was finalized, Layna sent me a detailed day-by-day itinerary with the tour info, what to expect, whom to meet and where, and a list of in-country contacts in case of emergencies.

Once in-country, everything went as expected.  There were guides to meet me as planned and they were all very professional. All the tours were well planned, conducted and safe.  The locals are nice, and I find the children very polite and well-mannered.

I already recommend Detour Destinations to a couple of friends who are excited upon hearing about my Peruvian trip.  When you come back from a vacation and you miss that place, you know you've spent some quality time there getting to know the place, the people, the culture and the food!
