Flew through the Delta terminal and have to say that I had great experiences, especially because of the following:

My bags beat me to the carousel.  Now I was at the far end of the terminal but I was impressed with the speed of my bag getting to baggage claim.  This is not something you see at many airports.

There is a way to check your bag between the parking garage and the terminal if you have your boarding pass.  This was by Delta agents and not Skycaps.  This was great.

There was also a security entry station on the upper floor when you came in from the parking garage.  You could skip all the hub bub of the normal checkpoint station if you choose.

 The food options in the Delta terminal are great.  We were able get a nice Greek meal while we waited for our flight.

I do not mind flying through this airport at all and appreciate what Detroit has done to make this a pleasant experience for travelers.

Very easy to navigate.  Good parking. Friendly staff.  I can usually get thru security in about 20 minutes.  They have pretty good restaurants and stores.  I like the Brooks brothers store and potbelly is the best for breakfast.  Perfect local airport.  Has international flights and it's a delta hub, so you get get pretty much anyway domestically.

Like the Express Tram at this airport. Cut down on time and walking distance if desired. The gates are convenient and the airport provides good amenities to the travellers. Customs at Detroit Airport was o e of the quickest and most efficient I have been through. Nicely done.

This airport is very easy to drive into from any of the freeways. It's well signed and clean. Good variety and many options for food and retail. It's open and airy which makes it seem less crowded. There are several pit stops for the four legged travelers too

McNamara terminal is the one I can comment on since that is where I fly out of. 

Probably one of the best airports I have been in. Clean and easy to navigate around. Plenty of restaurants and services for travelers. 

PLEASE DON'T UNDERESTIMATE the amount of time it takes to find parking, get to check in/security, walk to your gate, etc. All this stuff can take longer than you think, especially if you are traveling with women and children. 

The valet parking is great here at this terminal.

All & all, a great airport.
