I went on a Monday and at 8:10 there was a line of abut 30 people already. They opened early and I was taken care of in a timely fashion. I had to return because I was at fault, (NOT THEM!). Again we all lined up and I did not experience attitude from the staff. Previous to this I did however have problems when it came to the phone interview appointments, but then again I believe they might be under staffed. If you feel like you have a problem with this office, maybe you can apply for a part time job with them and help out and still receive benefits, or vote in the next election and maybe they will get paid what they are worth when dealing with the public. I make minimum wage, less than 20 hours a week and love people. Some people have bad days. Let's give them a break....just a thought!

Never answer the phone, I have been trying to get my food stamps for 3 months now. The last time I talked to them they said that they have to mail my dad a letter telling him I’m getting off his food stamps. But that was a month and a half ago. Which they never did. It doesn’t take this long to do that my father just got his food stamps in July and it took me less than a month. I’m really irritated. And for everyone else who five star this. Are kids asses so they can get the best they can.

Would have given NO stars, but it wouldn't let me. Have been jumping through all the hoops trying to get my "phone interview" but staff, somehow keeps messing it up and telling me I MISSED MY INTERVIEW. I have waited patiently by my 'working' phone on my scheduled day and time, twice now. Even had my phone tested to make sure I was not disconnected, have call waiting and would have answered even if it came up "Unknown". However, NO CALL. Yet I get an email notice that I missed my interview?!?! What?? I Truly Feel like the Staff might be over worked, yes, but we should have been able to connect correctly since late November. It is now mid-January 2018 and my family's benefits expired. I have a disability and work as often as I can as a substitute and have been filing application left and right, not hired anywhere yet. So tell me DHS, is my family suppose to end up on the street? Is it because I'm white? Is it because IL isn't getting Federal Funding because IL decided to become a Sanctuary State? We are desperate and NOT GETTING HELP...NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL BACK! YES! The Receptionist Is Rude! Keeps Repeating herself to hear herself and NOT Answer Your Question.

Very unprofessional, I was applying for my medical insurance and they kept losing my documents and I always had to bring in new copies every time. Since they kept losing my documents, I brought my mom in to help me. One of the staff told me "you're 19, you're too old to be having your mom around and doing adult paperwork for you. You shouldn't even be with her. You need to learn how to be more responsible because you're acting like a child. Be mature and stop having your mom do everything for you." Well, if it wasn't for them losing my paperwork all the time, I wouldn't have brought my mom in to help me.The lady refused to help me afterwards. Because of her, I missed my deadline and had to start my application all over. I understand working in customer service is hard, all I asked was for some respect and my paperwork processed.
