I`m a K through 5, late 60s~70s alum. I need to be there before my school is not there anymore. I am 54 now, and still have dreams that go back to Mrs. Baker`s kindergarten. My best memories are first grade with Miss Guyotte! I loved her and first grade so dearly!! She has inspired me to persue being  an awesome teacher. I remember Mrs. Noble, Mr. Walchewski,Mrs. Rios, Mrs. Vermass, Mr. Lipp and Mrs. Riske, our art teacher!! I can smell the smells, feel the worn  spaces in the three flights of stairs and remember when the houses on the south side of the block disappeared. I am truly heartbroken that an incredibly huge part of me shall become a Parking Lot! I need to come before its too late to try and reclaim the little girl bricks before they are thrown into a dumpster. I hope I can get there on time. However, I am far beyond grateful....and, RIP Mr. Swanlund. Do I have an opportunity to meet for a sort of "reunion"? PLEASE keep this long ago first grader in mind as any information becomes available.     Wow! I saw the moon landing in the gym there too :-) I am more than a lucky girl!!!
