Dirty French is a delightful brunch spot tucked away in the backyard of a hotel. The chic lobby opens up to a semi-outdoor dining area adorned with a high glass ceiling. The entire space exudes a lazy Parisian vibe, featuring print-patterned couches, woolen carpets, wooden coffee tables, and other charming vintage furniture. Sunlight streams through the ceiling, illuminating the dining area and lifting your spirits. One of the most remarkable aspects of Dirty French is its generosity with both space and time. It feels as though time stands still here, in contrast to the fast pace of the rest of NYC. We arrived at around 11:30 am and continued our leisurely chat until 2:30 pm, without ever feeling rushed. Unlike other brunch spots where you're often surrounded by crowds or hurried by impatient waitstaff, here you can sit back, relax, and truly enjoy a peaceful brunch. It's a rare feeling in NYC, where brunch can often be a stressful ordeal. I highly recommend Dirty French for anyone seeking a relaxing brunch experience. The ambiance truly makes all the difference.
thoroughly enjoyed everything i ate and the ambiance is divine for an LES spot that does not have any pretentious vibes. burger is juicy. the sides are perfectly composed. drinks were strong and oysters perfectly shucked. and the staff is super nice and accommodating. can’t wait to come backFood: 5/5
I have been in this restaurant a few times before 2020 and back again found it very different. Service is definitely better than before. It used to be very noisy and hard to hear each other. Less quiet now and not sure because Sunday night. The food is alright as well as the drink, even though not too many selections. Overall, a good place for dining with friends and family.
Our reviews had over 37 million views last year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really loved Dirty French. Must get reservations but lots of tables. Staff is excellent. Great managers, hostesses and servers. Pamela was our server, has been there since 2015 and knows the menus inside and out. She gave us a ton of great ideas. Started with the deviled eggs. Just like grandma use to make with some fun spices. All dishes here are a homage to their name so you can expect french flavors but with lots of different "dirty" spices and flavors blended in where you would not expect them. They give you a giant flash fried bread dish with awesome onion dip style butter. Yummy!!! Then we had the famous mushroom millefeuille. Think of 1,000 layers of noodles with the best corn sauce with some hot spice in parts but the noodles are a very subtle mushroom. If I had told you it was potatoes with no mushrooms you would believe me because the mushroom flavor is very subtle. THIS IS A MUST ORDER ITEM!!! I also had the in house sausage with in house mustard sauce. Again the sauce was very complex and not what you would expect. Fantastic. For our mains I had their famous orange duck. Only limited servings availabe each night so you must ask for it and hope it is not sold out. Best duck I have ever had. Moist, inside, cripsy outside. Wonderful sauce again note the "dirty" fun flavors in it that only had a hint of orange. I will get that every time I have the chance. She had the hangar steak. Be sure to order it medium rare to get the most flavor. Very good sauces again and the fries are double or triple fried so very crispy. I love the fries this way. They are like the little ones at the bottom of the box of fries you get and they are exquisite. For deseert we had the beignets that come with the famous sauce from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans or at least a "dirty" version of their sacue. These are served hot out of the fryer and are to die for. You cannot go wrong with this dessert. You get 4 of them but do not split an order, they are too good to share!!! Ask your servier about all the red roosters in the room and about the clown busts. Very funny stories. Look for the 3 frogs behind the bar and they will think you are a regular. We had a great time with great food and great employees like Pamela. We will come back again and look forward to many DIRTY nights again!!!! Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 36 million views so far this year and we thank you for that. We don't get paid, we just love to eat. Be sure to click on "RobH" at the top of this review to see all of them and to follow us if you like good food and FUN. If we do a review it is because we love it.
This is one of the best relaxing establishment for brunch or lunch especially in the garden seat. Sara have exceptional service to our table and very efficient taking our complicated orders , she is one of the assets on this restaurantFood: 5/5
Really nice place to stop by for food or drinks. The atmosphere is really relaxed and comfortable. Cozy fireplace sets the mood to enjoy tasty food on comfortable couches. Outdoor garden looks amazing will sit there next time i visit. Had the Parisian Baguette taste was on point, bread was crunchy and fresh. Pickles, ham and mustard had a nice kick. Cappuccino to top it off.
We enjoyed several meals here during our recent NY trip. Excellent food and drinks! Nice service. The roasted chicken is delightful, the best I’ve had in a long time. So simple yet perfectly executed.
Had an average experience at Dirty French which was unfortunately undermined by surprisingly slow service. The restaurant was decorated like a classic French spot, and I appreciated the available tables on a Saturday early afternoon. The food and drink options however were basic and average, both in variety and in quality. It also took us far too long to get service, receive food, and to be able to close our check. If you are in the area, it's a middling option for brunch.
The food at Dirty French was excellent! Each portion of the meal was unique and delicious. The atmosphere is upscale and the lighting is dim. There are also various rooms or sections of the restaurant. The staff and service here were very attentive.
The service was amazing, and the food delicious! The cocktails were outstanding. Next time I’ll just come to try the desserts. It was not noisy so you can actually keep a conversation. Loved Dirty French!
