My elderly mother was told to fax info back to get travel insurance. She isn't in good health and incase she couldn't make a flight, she wanted the cancelation insurance. She did everything she was suppose to do - and asked to do and in a timely manner. (I know, I faxed the signed paperwork). When my mothers doctor didn't clear her for traveling she needed to cancel her flights. Discount Travel said she didn't have insurance and all she could get was credit for another flight. (My mother is very ill and will never fly again.)This travel service charged her $180 for their services, is saying they didn't get the insurance for her and is causing my ailing mom nothing but problems about a refund - which was suppose to be available with the travel insurance. I would never use this company. We are getting our attorneys on this.

Dear Eric,
It has recently come to our attention that your office is gathering information regarding Rupal Martinez and her multiple travel agencies, (Discount Travel Shop and HD Motorcycle Tours). In mid 2011 we started the process of booking a combination cruise ship / motorcycle tour and villa rental to take place in Jan. 2012, in the Hawaiian Islands. Rupal did not book any aspect of our trip even though she had charged us immediately as each part of the trip was decided; in fact had significantly overcharged us. At the very last minute, when we realized the cruise line, villa rental agencies and inter-island airlines had never heard of us, we started communicating with them ourselves, because no confirmation numbers or itinerary were forthcoming. It appeared then as now that Rupal was running a sort of “Travel Ponzi Scheme” as she had our money and we had no bookings. Eventually we were able to put a modified version of the trip together and get some of our money back. She still owes us over $1000.
Please find attached some of our correspondence with Rupal Martinez. We hope this will help a little with the Attorney General’s case against her.
