Friendly group, medium sized church, solid Biblical teaching directly from God's word.

This is an amazing church! The people are so welcoming and the pastors speak the truth and speak it well.

Joe said it well below, I cant really add except that the church, dynamics, and worship services are the best in town. I could never find just the right combo of everything with the adsolute feeling of Gods presence that I find at Discovery.

Discovery Fellowship Church is the best kept secret in Fort Collins! After visiting numerous churches in town, we nearly gave up the search in disappointment. It seemed that most of evangelicalism in town fell between two extremes: 1. Dry, dead services that bore no likeness to the life-changing, fully satisfying faith that Jesus offered to the Samaritan woman in John 4. 2. A superficial, slickly programmed "pep rally for Jesus," that was followed by shallow "preaching" comprised largely story-telling and Christian cliches. I wondered if anyone in town knew how to mix strong exegetical preaching with a worship style that demonstrated God-centered music characterized by variety and excellence. Honestly, some of those services were painful to sit through. Then we found found DFC--what a delightful surprise! Unlike so many pastors in Fort Collins without seminary training, Pastor Rick Vannoy is a graduate of Dallas Seminary, and you can immediately tell the difference in his preaching. The content is mature, well-reasoned, and exegetically sound. People attend there because they are well-fed, and the leadership is mature and transparent. The our leaders conduct their lives speaks volumes! In addition to that, pastor Vannoy is unusually gifted and skilled in leading a church. The people are friendly, Biblically well-taught, and keenly interested in actually leading people to faith in Christ (not just talking about it). Honestly, the fastest 60 minutes in Fort Collins is the worship service at Discovery Fellowship. It's so well done and the preaching is so excellent, that when we leave to go home it seems like we've been there 5 minutes. I know that's pretty high praise, but it's actually that good! We actually feel like we've been in the presence of God--not in a holier-than-thou ritualistic way, but in a practical, life-giving one. The music minister, Bruce Webb, is mature, gracious, knowledgable, and one of the finest I've ever seen (and I've been a Christian for many years). He is not the worship leader; he's the LEAD WORSHIPPER--there's a big difference. The small group we're in is excellent--rich in teaching, fellowship, and caring. We're growing together in our faith and their lives are an enormous blessing to my wife and to me. They challenge and inspire us to walk more closely with the Lord. This is an intergenerational church and there is much value in the exposure to all generations to each other. This seems to model the Apostle John's first letter when he addressed "Dear children," "Fathers," and "Young men." The children's ministry is second to none, and the teen program is one of the best in the city. If you are looking for an excellent church home where you will systematically learn the Word of God, be accepted by the family of God, be challenged to deepen your faith, and be equipped to share the Gospel with a world in desperate need, I can honestly give Discovery Fellowship Church my highest recommendation. We are grateful and privileged to be associated with a church being so abundantly blessed by God on so many levels. In His Grace, Joe
