The Fall River court building actually houses many different courts including the district, superior, land, and I believe probate courts as well as probation divisions. Don't know why they call it the district court here in Google. It's a beautiful building, very clean and spacious inside. I haven't been in the courtrooms yet, but unfortunately I will be soon, so I'll give an update when that happens. Loses one star just because I'm going there to see probation and it's not something I particularly enjoy.
Slandered my name as I got older because of my parents, Made me out to be something I'm not little did anybody in Fall River know my Mowhawk Tribe Iroquois French Canadian Indian Warrior blood was coming out, It took for me to grow up outside of the dirty river to understand myself better, This place is just rigged like any system to make money off the less fortunate rather than serve.
My experience here was awful . I had jury duty . We didn’t get dismissed until 4pm got there at 8am . Rent a cop didn’t give us lunch in time so we had 30 min to get something to eat . DA decided at about 3:30 they didn’t have enough evidence to proceed . Judge came up and said we are gonna let you go instead of coming back tomorrow?!?! Really ?!? I have not left my seat all day I never got called for anything . I suggest transfer or change the date maybe you will get a different court house. What a joke .
Paid 12 dollars to park to be forced to sit in a chair with little padding for 6 hours. Jury duty is very bad here. No parking. So I drove 25 miles there. 25 miles home. Paid all that gas. Then 12 dollars to park and that is with their "discount". FALL RIVER YOUR CHARGING THE PEOPLE DOING THERE CIVIC DUTY TO PARK. WHAT CROOKS. FORCED TO COME TO THERE CITY BUT CHARGED TO PARK THERE.
Security and court officers are courteous and helpful in directing where we needed to go. Made my jury duty process seamless and painless. Parking st the garage on Pearl st is very convenient and it’s great they have deal with them as well for parking there for the day.
This court house failed to help my family when my wife needed help. She's been missing now for a year and a half because the judge didn't care enough. Now my kids suffer everyday missing their mom thanks to him
Here's some "report for jury duty" info. Potential jurors are allowed to bring cell phones, beverages and snacks. Parking at the Pearl Street Parking Garage is convenient. You will pay $7 for the day with courthouse validation. Everyone entering the courthouse must pass through a security check that includes removing your coats, belt, jewelry and shoes. There are no chairs to sit in while you take off or put on your shoes, so wear easy on-off shoes. I failed the metal detector three times because I was wearing sunglasses. I was able to connect with Xfinity Wi-Fi when I checked. Put your phone on vibrate unless you want 80 people staring at you when you get a call.
The Fall River District Court is nothing but a Kangaroo Court! The DA gives the Discovery Package, over 300 pages, less than a month prior to the trial. Law says it is to be given WITHIN ONE MONTH after charges are filed! The police commit perjury on the stand, and no one does a thing about it. This perjury is recognized and testified about, still, it's ignored by the judge, Finnerty, and the jury. The D.A. LIES to the jury during his final summation, stating things that were NEVER presented as evidence, and things that were completely DISPUTED during the trial as "truths," yet, the judge, Finnerty, allowed it to go on! The judge gave the jury 1/2 hour after 2 full days of legal, medical and social testimonty to come up with a verdict. When they asked for another 15 minutes -- and someone's LIBERTY was at stake -- he GAVE IT TO THEM!!! FOURTY FIVE MINUTES TIME TO DETERMINE IF SOMEONE WAS GOING TO JAIL after 2 full days of testimony!!! Would Finnerty want that for himself??? Or his mother, his daughter? On top of that, Finnerty couldn't be in court the following day, so, the jury would have had to go home on a Thursday and come back for a Friday to finish deliberating. WHAT person in their right mind would want to do that? Of course they wanted it over! They wanted 15 minutes! You can almost hear them pressuring people in the jury room to find the defendant guilty! And Finnerty gave them the means to do so! He needs to be pulled OFF THE BENCH!!! The FR DISTRICT COURT is NOTHING but a KANGAROO COURT!!!!! Shut it DOWN! They have NO idea what JUSTICE IS!!! And Finnerty does NOT follow the checks and balances of the Constitution in their sentences, either! When the Legislature authorizes ONE YEAR loss of license for a first time offence, where the HELL does HE get off giving 1 1/2 years!!! He literally is breaking the law himself! Put him in the crapy jail he sends people to, so he knows WHAT he's doing to others! He clearly needs to know how he's harming others with his heavy fisted hammer, We cannot call it justice!. Productive citizens become disabled as a result of their stay at that horrific place Hodgkins runs in New Bedford. A kangaroo court led by the kangaroo itself! Shut it DOWN!
Potential Jurors had to stand outside in the cold until the doors open at 8 AM.
Money makes any monkey dance. These judges are afraid of these lawyers. Everything is so obvious. This system absolutely sucks.
