We feel we were grossly overcharged for the service Dixie Electric and Plumbing provided. We had a broken high pressure regulator at the meter in our yard causing a water leak that needed immediate attention. We called Dixie because they had been working in our neighborhood on new construction. We thought their quote was extremely high but did not feel we had the time to call for several quotes. They came quickly when called. Since their repair, we have also had 50 percent less water pressure. We called another plumber to address that issue. When we shared our costly experience with Dixie with him, he showed us the cost of the part Dixie installed, it was $60: Dixie charged us $588 for the part. Since our experience, everyone in our new subdivision has warned us not to use Dixie. That information came too late since we already paid the $1,007 bill. Never again! Addendum: i appreciate your response, but I think it would have more credibility if you had asked for a phone number or address so you COULD contact us since I did not mention it in my comment. The service ticket was not in my name so you would not be able to get it from that. I guess that is why we have not received that phone call.

Just thinking about rewiring this almost 90 year old house was stressful, but once we talked to Craig from Dixie, the stress started to lift. Dealing with Dixie was straightforward and Craig did an excellent job answering questions and explaining pricing. The actual work was done well, created minimal disruption, and completed on time. Craig and Wade were professional and efficient. I would, and have recommended Dixie to others.

Despite all the good reviews, I did not have a pleasant experience with Dixie. I first scheduled an appointment and a CSR called to inform me that my technician could arrive earlier than expected. I said no thanks and they said he would meet me at a specific time at my home. I left work and was at my house at exactly that time. An hour later they had still not shown. Turns out the tech was sent to another appointment that directly conflicted with the time they were supposed to meet me. I reluctantly scheduled another appointment. The sole purpose of this was to simply get my hot water faucet fixed on my garden tub. The tech arrived fifteen minutes after the CSR said they would be there. No big deal. He was very polite and seemed to know what he was doing. He inspected (just looked) at the faucet and I explained to him the issue. He then asked me to look over the paperwork to determine a cost effective solution. I was already out $70 for him to just walk in the door. The price then shot to $190 for him to ONLY take the faucet apart. That did not include fixing it. Maybe I was naive in my expectations of plumber repair cost. In the end I opted to attempt to fix it myself and wasted two hours of my time for two appointments and $70 for the fee for him to drive out. I wish the company would have done an over the phone evaluation to let me know an estimated cost. We could have avoided the entire situation.

My bill for 2 hours worth of work was $1,033.75. That was to fix 3 very small leaks and take off a mixing valve to the hot water heater (apparently I didn’t need it). I did get $380 back for not fixing the hot water problem (I appreciate that) but that still left me paying $653.75 total for the 3 little leaks. I had 2 other plumbers come out afterwards and said it was a $250 MAX job and couldn’t believe that Dixie charged that much. I was naive about plumbing costs when I called Dixie initially but I am not now!
