The Chicken Fried Pork Chops are great. They're even better when you can get the 2 for 20 special. You get an appetizer or dessert and 2 entrees from a selection of 6-8 entrees. The fried pickles are outstanding and the banana pudding is quite good. I've been to Dixie Grill a dozen or so times. The service has ranged from mediocre to very good. Never what I would call poor, though. The food has ranged from 3.5 stars to 4.5 stars. Most times being a 4 or better. It has been consistently good enough to keep my wife and I coming back.

Stopped here for early supper on road trip from El Paso to Houston. Good place especially with kids. To our surprise kids eat free on Tuesday with adult entree purchase. Very home cook food, pot roast, fried chicken, shrimp. Sides like fried okra, hush puppies, steamed broccoli. Food reminds me of Cracker Barrel, only better and local. Waitress was super nice. Definitely an easy stop for a quick bite.

No. Do NOT STOP here. The food was terrible. We even ask what the server thought was best. The salad looked like left overs! How do you do that? All of the other food looked like something from a TV dinner. It was not fresh. I don't normally post bad reviews but this is a warning...

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’m from College Station, TX, and I came to visit the San Antonio zoo. My friend and I decided to stop at this restaurant on the way home for a couple steaks. My friend ordered a steak to be well done, and it came back medium rare. She then sent it back to have the meal prepared all over again. The waitress returned with the SAME steak that was recooked and it was still the same way. My friend then reordered a different meal, grilled shrimp, and the shrimp was literally raw! I am so disappointed. How do you get a meal wrong 3 times?

This is a great stop for good old-fashioned country cookin’. My favorite is the smothered pork chop and the wide selection of country style sides. If you like Cracker Barrel, you’ll love this place!
