The lines, wait times, lack of parking here are incredibly frustrating. It’s typical of a California government office that will always be that way because no one cares enough to do anything about it. They should make appointments mandatory at most DMV offices, then this wouldn’t happen. No appointment, then you’re driving from L.A. to Barstow. That way you learn.

Worst service yet! I waited 3 hours outside. Waited anoyher hour and a half just to be told they're system was down. I was told to return the following day but I wasn't allowed any privlages. This place is the worst! You're better off going somewhere else.

They have a new system now of how they call you. You need to write down your first & last name and your phone number, the staff are supposed to enter your info, then they call you by your initials and last 4 of your phone number. I asked the staff member if the new system is better and she said it was worse it takes longer to be seeing. All chairs were taken more than 20 people standing around and their was still a long line outside. Staff members were rude and upset because now they have to work longer. Another -point is that there is no way to calculate when you are next because of the initial and number system. The only way I see this system working is if it work along with an app that will call your phone number when is your turn that way people could wait in their vehicle if they choose too. West Covina DMV please get it together!!!

I think this is the best DMV I've been to thus far -- I had a great experience overall. I felt that the security guards were firm, but friendly - not demeaning or drunk with power. I felt that the staff did their best to organize and accommodate everyone who came in through the door, even though their computer system was down. Understandably, long waits are part of the DMV experience -- but I truly believe it's because there aren't enough DMVs around to accommodate the millions of people in LA who need to access DMV services. I arrived at the DM after work (around 3pm) and waited a total of 2 hours. But I expected that I would wait awhile, so I brought a book and a flexible/positive attitude. Hector Diaz helped me at Window 2 and he was very friendly and professional. He was empathetic to my long wait so he helped expedite my vehicle verification (I had just bought a new car and was transferring my title). I don't think there's any thing much that the workers there can do to expedite the processes - remember they are dealing with probably thousands of people a day. I think the best way to enhance the experience is to go with the flow. Or make an appointment, if you don't want to wait more than a couple of hours.

made an appointment a month in advance still waited more than 1.5 hrs. this place sucks. the sad part is all the taxes that the state imposes upon the citizens of this state and can not provide a decent customer experience at the DMV. now they are charging us extra money to replace our id cards. is time for the citizens of this state to make our officials accountable for the services that they provide. if this was a privately run company the DMV would be out of business for bad customer service.
