Glaciers flow faster than the line here. One person is served every 20 minutes. When I arrived, there were 40 people in line. That’s an 800 minute wait for a transaction that could easily be processed online in 2 minutes if this were California instead of the Old Old Old Dominion.

Best DMV in north VA so far. I went to the 7miles run one, Alexandria one and Tyson Corner one before. None of them are better than this one. They got fewer windows but also fewer people go there. The really important part is their staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Though they are not very passionate, but they also not give you a bad face. Please note this DMV has limited parking, so I parked at Giant Store close by.

I had a really bad experience in this Arlington DMV. I interacted with two DMV employees, the first one is named Bianca or Blanca and the second one is an African American with a patch of gray hair and an accent. The first one made me go to the DC DMV to get a document in order to wave a fee that the Arlington County charged me (I moved to DC and the VA state and Arlington County is still expecting to see proof of VA insurance. for 2015 and we are in 2017. When I presented the proof of insurance I was fined me for not providing the proof in time - Apparently I should have done it back in 2012). The second African American man just doesn't understand anything and has zero flexibility. All my questions to him were met with "I don't know". I waited two hours at the DMV and had to wait until Madam Bianca/Blanca comes back from lunch to deal with my issue. I ended up paying the fees, yes even though I live in DC. I have a third car registered in VA and have decided to move it to DC so that I won't have to deal with VA, the State, the Arlington County and the VA DMV. So in essence, to get $145 and lose the property taxes I would have paid. Very smart.

Absolutely no interest in helping us. We arrived with every possible document a foreigner can have. We went to a different DMV. Much better experience.

The lady put the wrong code and wrong date and had to visit dmv 4 times to renew my driver license. Awful experience.
