This place is simply the best. So kind and understanding and comforted me when I had to put down one of my pet chickens. “It’s not just a chicken, it’s a pet”, they said. They offered to do anything they could for me and there was so much respect for me and my animal, it really touched my heart. Thank you so so much. You made this terrible situation bearable. I never had to wait long and their prices are more than reasonable. I will never go anywhere else for the needs of my pets.

Let me preface this review by stating I rarely spend the time to comment on any review, or to rate a product. Some situations can't go unanswered. We adopted "Cubbie" from the SPCA. He was not Neutered. We had a couple of choices to take him for the surgery with the provided voucher given. Not knowing the experience we were about to have we chose Dodge City. My wife dropped him off Friday morning. We were told he would be available for pickup at 3:00PM. We arrived to pick up our new family member. The girl at the counter could not locate him in the computer. Several confusing minutes later she found him. He was also scheduled to get his 3rd set of puppy shots. They had trouble discerning the free neutering from SPCA and our paying the cost of his 3rd set of shots. The shots included a rabies vaccine, that is not needed until a puppy is 14 to 16 weeks old. Cubbie is 11 weeks old. We were told this is normal, it's not. They finally brought our Cubbie out to us. He was covered with dried feces. We were told he would need a bath. As we waited for our puppy in the waiting area, I witnessed on 2 occasions the giving or confusion of pet medication. The staff was poorly trained to say the least. I understand Veterinary Doctors do not make a great deal of money, but proper training of your staff is a must for return customers. We are like most people who's pets are an extension of the family. We expect a certain level of care and compassion for our pets, and we feel this was not achieved. Sad to say we will never be a return customer.

Dr. Smith and his staff are the best in South Louisiana! With having to move after the flood, we tried a couple of different vets. So happy to be back with the best!

The people here are outstanding. I called in a panic and they immediately worked in our fur baby, even though they already had a full schedule. Then we were heartbroken to hear that our baby had the parvo virus which is deadly. They acted quick but with a loving hand, keeping him for 4 days on antibiotics and i.v. fluids. On day 4 I received the call that pur fur baby was doing much better and able to come home. They saved our Max's life. Other vets charge outrageously for things like that but this vet was concerned more with saving our Max than about money. Their charges were very mimimal compared to others. So if you want wonderful, great, loving people to care for your fur babies while looking for reasonable, affordable pricing then this is thr place to go.

Everyone was very friendly. I Had a very sweet dog that showed up at my house. The dog had their phone number and they contacted the owners so we came to the clinic so they could pick him up. I was so impressed that we are now switching to Dodge City Vet.
