Honestly, I’ve longed for a good hotdog for a long time, most stands don’t really do justice to my taste buds nor my appetite, but this place has fantastic dogs! I’ve literally went from skeptical to huge fan.  High quality, delicious dogs, and I’m proud to say that I’ve tried half the menu. Chicago is my fave so far, and i’m planning to try their Jambalaya next.  Really nice owners too, and they care a lot about their customers. Best dogs that  I’ve ever had.  If you’ve read this far, they also have shakes and a cool free to play arcade with 100+ old school games too.

First time here, first time having a Chicago dog and I loved it, amazing dogs. My 5yo drew a hotdog ha! We loved every bit of the store as well. Nice weather, plenty of seating. Service was amazing too, down to earth people.Food: 5/5

For some reason I’m always craving hot dogs as a former meat-eater. The vegan ones here are amazing!!! Great way to end a walk in prospect park.Food: 5/5

Pretty good dogs and sausage spot! Chicago-style dogs, really good chilli dogs, and the polish with the crunchy kielbasa and caramelized onions with a drizzle of mustard is particularly good. The italian beef, a particular favorite was out by the time we got there.  Vegetarian options: They have a vegan dog

I had been dreaming about the juicy, crunchy hot dog for quite some time now and finally today, just before the looming storm decided to make a trek across the park to the Dog Day Afternoon. It turned out to be one of those make you feel good places where it feels like you’ve been visiting for ages and owner is your old buddy. I went for a Polish Chicago dog which didn’t disappoint and definitely made me want to come back to try all the other options. I only wish they had beer along their wieners. We took Bug to Dog Day Afternoon to get a hotdog for his birthday. He enjoyed it very much. I got the Chicago dog, was pretty good-I don’t know how I feel about the tomatoes but the actual hot dog was really good.  If you want a plain hotdog, order the kids one.

Probably the only hot dog I’ll eat in NYC. Absolutely delicious. snap, crisp, juice, pop, crackle, YUMMY. They nailed it. And the owners, Jay and Joe, are mad cool. 10/10 experienceFood: 5/5

I visited Dog Day Afternoon on a Tuesday around noon. I was visiting NYC & stayed in Brooklyn for my trip, so before my late night flight my group and I were checking out Prospect Park. Found this place nearby, saw it was highly rated on Google Maps, so we gave it a shot. 5/5 stars I can see why it’s so highly rated, the guy working was friendly and very helpful. It’s a small menu but he asked the right questions to make sure we got what we wanted. One dog we ordered was the vegan chili option and he ensured whether it was for a vegan or vegetarian person. The food was also delicious, hot dogs come loaded, and the flavors all worked well together. Also, reasonably priced!  If I’m ever in that area again I would definitely go back. Will not disappoint!

Excellent hotdog joint near Prospect park. We ordered one Chicago dog and one Chilli dog. Both were great. I have to point out that you can actually taste the meat in their sausages- it means that sausages are of high quality. Guy who prepared for us hotdogs was really friendly, helpful and whats more he gave us some chips free of charge. When you’re close by be sure to visit.
