On Thursday, March 21st, I picked up my dog from Doggie's House of Beauty and after getting home with her I realized I left my small change wallet on the counter when I picked her up. I immediately called and the owner, Robin, who answered the phone I told her to please get my wallet and save it away since I had five hundred dollars cash in it. She then told me that the wallet was not on the counter and that no one had come into her store since I had left with my dog. After being very upset, she then proceeds to tell me that the only person who had left and returned was her "dog washer" who at that very moment was conviently finding my wallet on the floor and of course, it was empty. Robin then tells me that only her, the other owner and the "dog washer" were in the building, soooo that can only mean to me that one of them has my money. I returned to get my empty wallet and then had another conversation with them about the missing money and how the "dog washer" had to walk passed the counter to leave/go to the bathroom or whatever it is that she claims she did... All I know is that someone in that buiding STOLE my money and if they are willing to STEAL from their customers, they are probably stealing from the business too; however, that makes no difference to me, I just mentioned it to the owner because I really don't feel that Robin was involved since she was so honest with me to tell me that no one had been in the store since I left... However, the "dog washer" is still employed there and I don't really know the other owner... MY WARNING IS TO "BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOU DO BUSINESS" I would hope that after thirty years of my business that they wouldn't steal from me or anyone else. Robin is not the original owner and I hope she doesn't make poor choices in her hiring or not firing of people she has working for her. I've heard GREAT things about POOCHIE's on Williams Blvd... My co-workers claims more than once she has walked out without her change and they call her before she gets home to return and get her change.

Our Sassy has a double coat, extremely thick and long. The place we used before always cut her up. The people at House of Beauty never nick her and are very gentle with her. You just get the feeling that these ppl really care about animals.

This business may be competent at grooming, but it is not a boarding facility. This business came recommended by a friend. I was going to be out for the whole day and didn't want to leave my 8 mth old puppy home all day alone, especially since we kenneled him when we weren't at home. I opted instead to board him, since I thought he would be looked after. The business would be closed when I would be coming home that night, so I decided to board overnight and pick him up the next morning. I still feel bad for my dog and its been over a year since this horrible experience. I brought him to this business on a Saturday morning with a bag of his dog food (he has food allergies and they said it would be okay to bring his own food). When I returned to the business the next morning for my scheduled ten o'clock pick-up, the place was locked up and I could here dogs barking and howling. I called the business owner, who I apparently woke-up. She met me at the facility five minutes later and when we walked inside there were dogs running loose in the small desk area. My dog's bag of food was still on the counter and looked like it hadn't been touched. His colar was on the floor and had obviously been drug through feces and urine, which covered the floor. I could here my dog's distressed barking in the background and a kennel door being opened. When she brought him out to me he had dried feces and diarrhea all over him. He had blood coming out of his rectum and he had rubbed the fur off of his lips and over his eye. When we got in the car he had diarrhea three times before we got home and I only live 15 minutes away. I took him to the emergency vet and had them check him out (a pretty expensive bill btw). The vet said he was mildly dehydrated and suggested we monitor his drinking and to add pedialyte to his water bowl and sent us home with antibiotics. The vet also said that he likely had been kenneled all day because he was rubbing the fur off of his face, a sign of distress. We had to cook for my dog three weeks to get his stomach back healthy. I get angry every time I think about this. If I didn't care about my dog, I could have left him kenneled at home all day and he still would've faired better than this "boarding, exercising" business could have offered. If I ever board again, I now know to check out a boarding facility thoroughly before considering ever boarding again and not to go off of a recommendation.
