While we were waiting for the food, they gave us hot and salty nachos accompanied by a very spicy sauce that tasted amazing and a green sauce that tasted great too. The food came a few minutes later, and wow, it looked great! I could assure you that it tastes as delicious as it looks. The burritos were flavourful, the ingredients in the guacamole were fresh... All around, it tasted really good ! Also, there were so many options, you could get anything you'd wish for. The only issue I have with this place is that it's not more popular!!

Don Barriga Mexican Grill is a very cozy Mexican restaurant in center city Philadelphia. This location is their second location in Philadelphia and they recently opened it.  My friend and I went there for lunch and we both loved the food. He ordered Alambre Don Barriga and I ordered Ribeye Steak. His main course came with rice, beans and avocado. My main course served with rice, beans and a side of guacamole, grilled cactus, fresh cheese and two green enchiladas. The food was just excellent and very tasty. Everything was extremely fresh and their portions were great too. We both got tiramisu for dessert and easily I can say it was one of the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life.  Our servers Bryan and Kevin were extremely helpful and friendly. They were both attentive and very kind people. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was relaxing. The music was great, but it was a little bit loud. Their prices were very reasonable too.  I will definitely try their other foods soon. I highly recommend this new Mexican restaurant.  Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair accessible entrance in the restaurant.

Best salsera Verde and roja we have ever tried. We are driving thru Philadelphia  and came across  this by reading the reviews. It's definitely a place to try. Prices as well are very affordable for the food quality and service. Highly recommend overall.Food: 5/5

Extremely flavorful, and clearly fresh ingredients. I'll be going back.  Got takeout. Added fajita veggies and cilantro to the plain burrito, which is just beans fyi their refried beans are vegetarian/no lard, rice, cheese, and lettuce, topped with sour cream and cheese, but it is delicious. They grill the burrito, which adds some layers of flavor and helps avoid any dreaded takeout sogginess. The guacamole on the side and chips were great too. Some chips were a bit too salty, but I'll take that over them all being under-salted. The two salsas were incredible also. The salsa roja was fairly spicy and absolutely packed with flavor, if perhaps a bit over salted too, but it was perfect in moderation or dipped with the salsa verde or a bit of guac.  I'm looking forward to trying more.  Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options could be better labeled, and having a few more clearly veggie items would be nice.

Exceptional. Delightful. Amazing. Delicious. Superb. Best Mexican food in center city. The birria tacos are goated. I also have a gluten intolerance and I’ve never had any problems eating here.Food: 5/5

I love this place. There food is really good and consistent. They are friendly. And the price are really reasonable. I’m gluten free and I have so many options and I’ve never gotten sick!  Dietary restrictions: Gluten free dairy free egg free

HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR DELICIOUS MEXICAN FOOD & PERFECT SERVICE I’m from San Diego where the Mexican food is sublime and honestly can say this is finally the best most delicious Mexican restaurant I’ve found in my four years here in Philadelphia. Andre who works here is so kind and charismatic as well-I’ll definitely be a regular here

New place yay! I just picked up an order of breakfast scrambled eggs with hot dogs- it’s a Latin thing the platter comes with rice. Delicious and moist, and beans also made to perfection.  I also wanted to try a chicken tamale, good size with red sauce. And omg, delicious. The flavors reminds me of Nicaraguan nacatamals, which I can’t get anywhere in PA. So I found a new lunch place and will be coming back to try the rest of the menu,

Excellent service, everyone I was with liked their food, and the atmosphere was nice. It's a smaller place but not cramped. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would go there again and recommend.Food: 5/5
