Mission Statement
Guided by the Salesian educational system of St. John Bosco, Don Bosco Technical Institute is a Catholic high school that offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum—uniquely integrating academics and technology—to qualified young men of all religious, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
As a Christian faith community, the school prepares and equips students to be life-long learners who are dedicated men of faith and integrity, committed to leading successful lives of distinguished service and social justice.
Philosophy
As a Catholic School, Don Bosco Technical Institute is a faith community whose ultimate goal is to assist students in establishing and strengthening their relationship with God. While open to students of all faiths, we present Jesus as the perfect model to follow: Christ as our Teacher, Redeemer and Good Shepherd. This Christ-centered focus guides the content of our instruction, inspires our celebration of the Church’s liturgical life and motivates our commitment to service and social justice.
As a Salesian school, Don Bosco Technical Institute provides a supportive and caring family environment modeling itself after St. John Bosco’s Oratory. Like Don Bosco, we believe that “school is life being lived” and “education is a sacred means for the transformation of human beings.” We give our students an experience of church, where they find meaning; school, where they learn life skills; playground, where they celebrate life; and home, where they feel welcomed. Applying St. John Bosco’s Preventive System of Education, we accompany our students using reason, by fostering relationships of mutual respect; religion, by recognizing each one’s dignity and responsibility to discern God’s call; and loving kindness, by emphasizing gentleness, patience, joy and optimism.
As a technology-based, college-preparatory high school, Don Bosco Technical Institute provides its students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive. Through our curriculum, which offers a unique integration of academics and technology, we offer opportunities for our students to gain command of the technical aspects of the 21st Century. We provide a rigorous college-preparatory program, including honors and Advanced Placement courses, while using a project-based learning model where students apply classroom learning through hands-on lab experience and benefit from career exposures unavailable in traditional high schools.
We expect our students to accept these challenges, while continuing to support and accommodate their educational needs, leading them to attain academic success. We rely upon the collaboration of parents and teachers in providing a student-centered education. We promote healthy living, foster the development of cooperative skills and encourage a spirit of community involvement and leadership that our students carry into life. Ultimately, we form graduates who are life-long learners and critical thinkers imbued with a sense of faith, social justice and civic responsibility.
