we used tent spot #5, and it was sheltered and nice with a brand new picnic table. the ground was a little less than flat, so there was a bit of rolling down hill in the tent in the most private area of the site. the bathroom was close by but didn't smell, or create a lot of noise/traffic. the one thing that was challenging was that 1 of our party of 4 adults had a very difficult time sleeping through the mooing of neighboring cows. a local informed us they are transported there for sale on Mondays, and are in distress due to being on unfamiliar fields. some of the cows sounded like they needed a paper bag, to prevent hyperventilating- so it wasn't just your average mooing all night long. once we bought the troubled sleeper ear plugs, it helped a bit, but he could still hear the cows and a neighbor's music between 10pm and 7am... so might not be a great place for a light sleeper. otherwise it was relatively peaceful and the view over the river was gorgeous at sunset. collecting firewood was no problem. it was a sweet little spot.

Dos Rios is a lovely getaway spot on the Llano River just below the confluence with the spring fed James.  The park is well run,  with clean facilities and a friendly atmosphere. Dos Rios is not far from Mason Texas,  but far enough away from any light pollution, which makes for spectacular stargazing.  I was fortunate enough to be out there in August 2016 during the Perseid meteor shower. Unforgettable!

Awesome campground!! Well maintained, great river access, beautiful views. Stayed in Cabin 5, had all the amenities needed for a comfortable and enjoyable hill country outing. Will definitely be coming back!

Awesome RV park in the Texas Hill Country, perfect weekend glamping trip just a short drive from Austin.  We stayed in one of the redone vintage airstreams - they are so cool and the renovation is so well designed!  We were super comfortable in the airstream, even with a kid and dog.  We kayaked down the Llano river, went cliff jumping and even saw some goats on the cliffs!  It's so beautiful and peaceful here. One night we grilled by the river, another night we went into Mason and got pizza, it was great!  We stayed up late and watched the sky completely fill up with stars.  It's so special here. 
Also, the owner is so responsive and nice to deal with, you can tell he really takes care of the place. Best RV park I've ever been to.

Our small group stayed a night here in tent/hammock spot 3. Just what we needed as a rendezvous location for our 3 day kayak trip the next day. Conveniently located  between and amongst put-ins and take-out locations for paddling the Llano. Amenities were everything we needed. The staff manning the camp during the day were friendly and knowledgable about the area and the river.
