DCFD #2 Volunteer Firefighter Association is dedicated to serving the citizens of our community
Douglas County Fire District No.2 or also known as DCFD#2 serves a population of approximately 27,500 and growing rapidly, the fire district is about 99 square miles. It is generally characterized as rural, but also includes the incorporated areas of East Wenatchee, Pangborn Airport and Rock Island.
Douglas County Fire District No. 2 has three (3) fire stations. The Headquarters Station, completed in 1993, is located at the corner of N.E. 4th St. and Eastmont Ave. in East Wenatchee and is manned 24 hours. One at Pangborn Memorial Airport staffed with 5 resident firefighters, and one resident firefighter at the Rock Island fire station.
The Douglas County Fire District No.2 equipment includes four fire Engines, two water tenders, four brush trucks,1 rescue truck an ATV, and a support trailer. Douglas County Fire District No. 2 is governed by three (3) Fire Commissioners, elected to six-year terms. It employs twelve (12) full-time career fire personnel and three (3) support staff. The District also has 42 active Volunteer Fire Fighters.
Services in addition to fire suppression and medical aid for life-threatening emergencies include, annual company inspection of all commercial occupancy, fire code enforcement, fire hydrant inspections and a variety of public education programs.
The District was last rated by the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau in 2004.
The Douglas County Fire District No.2 was determined to be a class 5. The City of East Wenatchee received a class 4 rating.
The mission of Douglas County Fire District #2 is to provide protection of life, property and the environment. Accomplished through fire suppression, fire prevention education, rescue operations, emergency medical services and community involvement. With reasources allocated and the authority granted we will provide to the citizens and visitors of Douglas County Fire District #2 quality- cost effective emergency services
