The Sheriff and Deputies cover 434 square miles of Douglas County which include the towns of Armour, Corsica, Harrison, New Holland and Delmont. The Sheriff's department is also contracted with Armour, Corsica, and Delmont to provide municipal law enforcement needs. The Sheriff and Deputies' duties are as followed: Law Enforcement Duties, Criminal and Traffic Investigations, Traffic Enforcement, Crime Prevention, Enforce Federal, State, and Local Laws Courthouse Security, Prisoner Transport, Courtroom Security, Civil Process, Assist Treasurer with Tax Collections, Carry out Court Orders, Collect on Judgement on executions, Maintain Warrant file, Issue Pistol Permit, Collect Sheriff's Fees, and Collect bonds.
