The most memorable part of my years there  were the faculty and teachers. The teachers were amazing. When you're there you can feel how they want to be helpful and see you succeed. The teachers and faculty are very encouraging and entertaining as well. They know how to balance staying on task yet finding a way to make things interesting for the student. Not only that but they give very good life stories and advice. Nothing comes for free at school, that's something I can say very clearly.  You do have to work for that grade but even if you struggle, you know that if you honestly try hard enough, you should be able to make it through. I would rate 4.5 stars but they don't have that option. Overall the good over powers the bad.  The only bad is that this school is very big so it can be hard getting noticed sometimes. Overall the student body were alright.. there are some very good and respectable students and then again there are some that are a bit conceited. If you want to make the right friends I suggest sticking to the ones in the Honors and Ap classes.  Stay away from the girls full of drama and the guys who may seem full of themselves. If you stay committed and listen to that advice you should be fine. Class of 2017♡

It is a very great highschool and it has mild security but it does not mean it is a bad school to go it is a good place to go to and also vikings rule bears suck p.s. warren at least we are humans that can easily fight bears.

This school makes me feel like an outcast and ik i may be just some kid and no one is reading this but just needed to say this school wants so much money and i get it its for our education but hey not everyones made of money ya know and not just that the lunch food sucks alot like hey can u guys at least try to get better lunch food thats worth paying for ... Like honestly 2:50 for one slice of pizza its not even worth it id rather starve ...also this school is good but sometimes teacher can play favoritism and hate some teaches just heat a student other like them which causes alot of problems for the two of them . maybe some does ready this but i would just like to say this school is ok...but u wouldn't want drugys and pregnant girls on campus bc it looks bad right but yet u guys have bullies and people who hate on other and teachers that make kidds feel like theyll never make it they'll never do right.

My daughter was a victim of favoritism by one of the teachers. I spoke to the Assistant Principal and nothing was done. I email the principal back in June 2016 and still waiting his response (7 months later). He never took the time to respond to my complaint. Downey High is very competitive with sports and focuses on favoritism to win every competition. The student's morals get affected and the administrators do not care at all. I had to transfer my daughter to another high school for her well being and academic success.
