As big as the park is there’s room for everything except basketball? A park that has multiple tennis courts, a skate park, baseball/kick ball field, soccer courts, a playground for the kids but not a single basketball court in sight. Pretty insane for a park to be as big as this and no courts.
very clean park. tennis courts and baseball field are very well maintained. also they have a skate park with full of skaters from beginners to expert levels. lol. restrooms are also clean and have tissues. problem with this, lnot enough trees for shades. i suggest more picnic tables with shades. by the way, first to saw a public park with EV charging station. kudos to Downey city government. Los Angeles City parks department must visit your place to see the big difference. LA public parks are so poorly maintained.

Lots of parking has tennis courts plenty of restrooms mostly locked skate park and baseball fileds.
Not crazy bout its narrow shape design. The front part is relatively safe, which is facing the main road, but further in is staying away or hiding from the public sight.
This park is a great place for any type of skater young or old beginner or pro! The local skaters are good with the younger kids teaching them how to skate and encourage the youth to skate and not do the drugs that's spreading like a wild fire
Good size park. Aside from minor construction work good spot to stay active with basketball courts, different size fields, and a splash zone. Although I'm not sure if that splash zone is open. Well kept as far as I can tell.
I was only on the side of the tennis courts I didn’t explore the rest of the park. With that said it was pretty calm I didn’t see any weird people or anything out of the ordinary I felt safe. I will update once I explore the whole park.
Independence park is a nice park the employees are cool one of them likes pretend he's the shot caller. But he's harmless other than that I always feel safe there There are skaters some gang members and GP
