Dr. Charles H. Hiles Jr

My diagnoses was so off base I was almost unable to walk because of his lack of action. 
I was judged and dismissed, end of story.  Please, if you need actual help a veterinarian would be more responsive.

I had to write a review of my own after reading the last review.  My heart deeply goes out to her as it sounds like she had a very bad experience that deeply affected her.  It feels horrible when you do not feel "heard" and validated.  Medicine has come a very long way and much more is known about fibromyalgia than when Dr. Hiles was practicing in Roanoke, Va. I wish she had the experience I had with Dr. Hiles as he was also my physician.  He was so amazing with me that I also I brought all my family members to him.  I was a critical care nurse at a level one trauma center and Dr. Hiles competently took care of all aspects of the most acutely ill patients, something it usually took many specialists to do.  I have actually been looking for another physician like Dr. Hiles  for the past 10 years.

Dr Hiles was my Dr in Roanoke and I cannot in good conscience suggest his services to anyone. When I used to visit him many years ago I had a weight problem and he fixated on that an nothing else. He did not 'believe' in Fibromyalgia, a condition which cripples as many as 1 in 20 people world wide. He needs to get educated and grow a bed side manner..... something he sorely lacks. Now at a normal weight, my only regret with him changing his practice to a new state (twice it appears) is that I cannot show up in his office at 1/2 my size and say "Look at me now".  Instead of measuring my height, he guessed. Well he guessed WRONG....try 4 inches shorter than I am. He went on to talk about my weight like I was some grotesque pig. I am not, I am a human being. I cried reading what this 'man'... who took an oath to 'do no harm' to me wrote about me. See anyone, travel, but I cannot recommend someone so cruel.
