I took my daughter to Dr. Katz on recommendation of our pediatrician. His office was able to get us in the same day to my surprise. I must say this office is super friendly and accommodating. From the moment we walked through the door we were treated with the utmost respect. Dr. Katz's nurse was extremely nice and very sensitive to my 9yr olds needs. She was just wonderful. I was extremely impressed with Dr. Katz himself not only did he explain everything to me but he turned to my daughter and explained to her everything that was going on in terminology a 9 year old could understand. Most Doctors make you feel rushed. Not Dr. Katz he took the time to answer not only every question I asked but my child's also. After not really knowing what was going on we left the office that afternoon with peace of mind. I can't express my gratitude enough to the people who work at this office. I thought at first maybe this was because we were new patients but so not the case. If I call the office my phone calls are returned promptly. Making a follow up appointment is a breeze. I have nothing negative to say about this office I would recommend this office to everyone. Thank you to Dr. Katz and staff for being so genuinely concerned, in this day and age it is a rare trait and you should all be commended.

Dr. David S. Katz is the first genuinely rude (and crooked) physician I've encountered. He is very abrupt, argumentative, and dismissive. And he has the worst bedside manner. I first saw him about 6 years ago, when he removed a sizable lipoma from my triceps, and again about a year and a half ago for a smaller one in my left forearm. When I returned with others in my arm and leg recently, he became agitated and explained to me that my body would continue to make these benign tumors, and that I should just leave them in. I told him I understood the likelihood, as well as the point he was making, but explained that the actual knowledge of whether they were malignant or benign was only determined through biopsy. Then he proceeded to insult my intelligence, using comments like "can't you get it through your head", and implying that if I didn't agree with him, I had a mental problem. He removed the two from my arm and told me to come back in at least 6 weeks if I really wanted the ones in my leg removed. When I returned in 2 months, I was greeted with additional rudeness, first from his reptilian assistant who asked me if anything had changed since my last visit. When I told her I was going to have open heart surgery in 3 months, she didn't even blink, she just repeated her question to the effect of "so, no new medications, though?". Then she took my blood pressure and disdainfully told me it was high, like it was an accusation and I had done something wrong. I said I just had it checked at the cardiologist the day before and it was 120/68. She replied sarcastically, "it must be me", then walked out. Next the doctor came in, told me "I'm not your guy", then gave me an updated condescending speech, insinuating that having surgeons cut me to remove lipomas was either some kind of fetish, or I just lacked the mental capacity to understand his medical opinion. I told him I was fine with him refusing to treat me, but hoped that he understood the statistical probability wherein by refusing to excise tumors from future patients, eventually one of them will be malignant and go untreated. He told me "I keep my own counsel", took one final jab at my intelligence, and showed me the door. I will never go back to Surgical Associates of Milford again for any reason. And to top it off, they insisted on billing me for the visit. A $45 copay, and my insurance will likely pay hundreds of dollars for nothing but 5 minutes of pure condescension. I'm going to contact Aetna about him, though. They have a right to know exactly what they're paying for. I have a family history of cancer, with 2 grandparents succumbing to malignant brain tumors, another to lung cancer, and several other relatives being afflicted by malignancies in other areas. To be treated as though I were insane for wanting these lumps removed because Dr. Katz's crystal ball tells him they're benign, without the benefit of a biopsy, is flat out inexcusable. Having me schedule for an excision, then refusing to do it, and billing me for the visit... that's flat out criminal.
