Worst medical experience I have encountered. Was scheduled for urological surgery at the Connecticut Surgical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut for August 11th at 11:30 am. Was requested to be at the center by 10:30 am. Fasted since midnight and arrived at the Center before 10:30. The preparation took no more than 15 minutes. Only medical attention was insertion of IV, Blood pressure and Temperature. Met briefly with the an anesthesiologist at about 10:45 who ended the conversation jokingly that Dr. Paraiso is usually late. From 10:45 to 12:10 no Nurse or anyone else from the Center checked in regarding how I was doing, was I cold, did I need a blanket or with any information regarding why Dr. Paraiso was late. At 12:10 a Nurse came in and informed me and my wife that she had "just made" a call to find out where Dr. Parasio was. My Wife appropriately asked: "You don't know where he is?" The Nurse responded that "he was properly in Surgery." After informing the Nurse that I had lost trust in Dr. Paraiso and confidence in the Center, I requested that the IV be removed and that I was leaving. Just then Dr. Paraiso arrived. I asked him where he had been. He stated that he had been in his office. I asked him why he was late? He said he was seeing patients. I asked why he did not have his office call the Center to provide information that he was running late. He looked at me as if I had asked a question that know one should ask. Blank face. He didn't demonstrate any sensitivity why a patient who was about to have "very personal" surgery would be upset. I informed him that I had lost trust in him and Confidence in the Surgical Center. I subsequently informed my primary care physician. He indicated that there was no excuse. I have informed my insurance carrier. No bills to be paid until I review. I would stay away from Dr. Paraiso and the Connecticut Surgical Center. Both are unprofessional and do not have a patient's well being as their focus.

Excellent doctor, with excellent bedside manner and a keen medical mind.
