Classic Bait-And-Switch!!!

I must start by saying that I’ve been going to Dr. Kurz for several years. My wife has several issues in the past with them as far as broken retainers and billing issues, but she remained loyal. But after my last encounter I am going to be seeking a new dentist. As another review has stated it has to do with their billing practices. I’ve only had cleanings, so everything was covered by insurance. This last cleaning I was advised I needed a crown. When I was checking out, I was given the cost of my procedure. The paperwork stated and the billing team verbalized I would pay half and my insurance would pay the other half. I agreed and booked the service. After getting my crown I received a statement from my insurance that they would not cover anything and I was responsible for the entire procedure. I immediately called Dr. Kurz Family Dentistry. They back pedaled and said that the cost was only an estimate. I disputed saying that they are the professionals and should know what is and is not covered by insurance. The least they should do is suggest customers contact their insurance company and see what is and is not covered since I’m certain I am not the first or last customer who had insurance deny a claim.

I was not in immediate pain and did not even realize I was need of a crown. I would have waited until my next open enrollment and picked a insurance that would have covered the procedure if I had known. I paid my half of the procedure on time... This was back in April 2017. They said they would resubmit my claim and that was the last I heard from them. Fast forward 4 months and I received a bill. I called them and they basically apologized but took no responsibility for misleading me. I restated that they are the professionals and should’ve disclosed the possibility I may be responsible for the entire procedure. It feels like a classic case of bait-and-switch. I could of found out in one week if I was covered. After a decade of patronage (which they did not take into consideration) I cancelled my remaining appointments and I’m in the midst of finding a new dentist as we speak.

Dr. Kurz and her staff are absolutely wonderful. I have had a lot of problems with my gums due to Systemic Lupus and anemia, and I am thankful that Dr. Kurz has been able to help me in dealing with this. My husband and daughter go there for regular checkups and cleanings. I feel confident that our family is getting best care possible. I had a dentist growing up, Dr. Clarence Parrott who has since retired. I absolutely loved him and wanted my daughter to have a dentist with the same integrity, compassion, and skill. We have found that with Dr. Kurz. Her staff is excellent. They work so very hard to make the experience as good as it can be. Thank you for caring so much about our family. God Bless.

I don't even know where to begin. I have never been to a dentist that allows their patient to walk out looking worse than when they came in to see them. I just recently started coming to this office and decided to get my veneer replaced with Dr. Kurz since she appeared knowledgeable and advertise cosmetic dentistry. However, not only did I cry the entire time I left crying with teeth that looked horrible. It angers me just to talk about it so I'm not even going to go any further. All I can say is don't get veneers done here. I have gone back twice to get them replaced and as of today I'm waiting for my third set to be put on. Had I not paid so much money I would go elsewhere. This has truly been emotionally draining. I am so afraid of how she will do this next set. I went in looking so much better. Anyone that knows me can vouch that I had a great smile. I only wanted my teeth bleached which meant new veneers if I wanted them to match and I left looking as if I had a backyard dentist put teeth in my mouth

My family and I have been going to Kurz Family Dentistry since our relocation in 2006. Not only is Dr Kurz a great dentist but her bed side manner with her patients is awesome. The employees in the office are great and understanding when it comes to any and all billing and insurance issues.
