great news! due to its greedy, bad customer service, it is out of business now! When I was in school, we were told that dentists have the highest suicidal rate among all doctors. Now I know why, because they have to get your money like those shady used car salesperson. If they can't make you believe that you have bad teeth, then they can't make money out of you. It is just that simple. I literally saved some teeth by not going to this dental group ever again! When I got to this office, I was given a free reusable tote bag with their web site printed on and a thank you letter. One assistant then gave me a tour of the office. She showed me all those certificates, rewards dentist Emily Q. Letran has ever got. Letran owns three dental offices. It seemed strange to me that the other two offices which have been operating for a while, how come there is no reviews? On her company's facebook page, there isn't much customer reviews, either. "Tran" is a Vietnamese last name, but Letran is certainly not. Did she change her last name for some reason or because she married to some guy called letran, I don't know. The dentist that I saw on that day was not her. So I don't see the point of showing me whatever Letran has done. The assistant also showed me the equipments they have. If I am not gonna have all those procedures, what is the use of showing them? This office doesn't have those tv monitors in front of the chairs which they can use intraoral camera to show your teeth on the screen. At that moment, I thought that because they don't have fancy equipments, they probably won't overcharge people. wow, I was so wrong! Dentist Rita Chen answered all my questions and took the time to "explain" to me why I need to get expensive crowns, (which the previous dentist only suggested cheap dental fillings.) She even suggested that if I want to treat aggressively, I should get a crown for a normal teeth with a tiny hole which other dentist didn't even suggest to get a filling! So I asked for a price list for the procedures that need to be done. A few minutes later, that person just handed me a hand-written sticky note. On top of it, it has the normal price that they would charge me which was over $6300! Due to my dental plan's "discount", I ended up with a suggested price of almost $3000 with a monthly payment plan. Just like how they usually do in those shady auto repair shops, there was no list of detailed procedures or price per procedure. This is purely extortion. Would the dentist herself pay someone $3000 so randomly to fix her teeth? For deep cleaning which I don't really need according to my honest dentist, this place wants me to pay them hundreds of dollars more. When I asked them why, they told me that because they have to treat me with antibiotic medicine which are not covered by my plan. I told the assistant that I will get the regular dental fillings instead of the crowns that they want me to get. She told me flat out that they can't do it at this office even though the other two dentists that I saw only suggested dental fillings. Then I told her that I will have the other procedure for my teeth, she then told me that I must have deep cleaning before they can do that procedure which is not true at all! - And once you gave them your information, you will be forever annoyed by her monthly postal newsletter. Every month, she will print sixty or more new patient names on it. let's just say 60x12 = 720 new patients/year, how can she take good care of new patients with her limited resources? That just shows that she can't keep the old patients happy, they are leaving her for good. Then on the newsletter, it also have a column of a gold fish talking about her as if she was the mother. Then it also has random articles about how you should run your life with no author names, or references, as if she is your personal life coach. Save your teeth, don't go to that place! The owner knows her bad reputation, that is why she is paying monthly fee on another review site in order to delete all bad reviews, such as mine.

I don't post things about businesses because people who do are usually either highly critical or like to complain and crave attention. So here is my first . . . I was recommended to Dr. Letran recently. She saw me almost immediately for a cleaning and recommended that I return for an extraction. I knew I had two broken teeth, so that was a no brainer. After a half hour, she was done. I also found out that she donates her services one day per month towards military veterans. That is impressive. It's the first I've heard of any Southern California dentist doing that. I will recommend her anytime. The fact that she takes care of our military brothers and sisters in need is phenomenal.
