I don't write reviews often but I was surprised at some of the low ratings. I am rating the doctor, not the office staff etc., although I haven't had an issue with the staff. Dr Cook did surgery on my daughter and was very kind and explained things very carefully. He even took the time to show me the xrays of my daughters spine. He was very casual, meaning easy to talk to, but was very professional when it came to deciding which approach was best for my daughter. I can take a rude receptionist as long as the doctor that is actually doing the surgery is good and from my experience Dr. Cook is a good surgeon. I would recommend him.

If I could give less I would, the office staff lies directly to your face about insurance not thinking we would follow up. Plans for a surgery date without approval, has no regard for patients that are having to plan around their mistakes. The worst first impression, we would be better off looking for another dr with better support staff. They have wasted so much of our time and took no responsibility for inadequate office measures. Very unprofessional. If you choose to stay with this dr heads up on poor professionalism.

My wife has had three different surgeries, the last being the most serious.  Dr. Cook is technically gifted but spends time explaining what is going on.  His bedside manner is A+.  His staff in his office are professional and friendly.  We recommend Dr. Cook highly.

I rate this doctor low not because of his service but because i called up to make an appt and the woman was rude and mislead me to believe I didnt need to see this type of Doctor when it is. She stumlbed over her words as if she was interrupted and pissed off.  
Even before she asked me why I was calling, she asked me if I had a recent MRI.  

First impressions of any company is the person who answers the phone. Not impressed.
