Overall I expected more empathy from a doctor and those who work in the office. My experience with this office spans several years but only three or four interactions. The first was an intake appointment where Dr. Mahata seemed cold and was unable to answer my questions about a diet change to improve my hypothyroidism. Upon leaving I made an appointment for a year or two out. At some point I used Patient Portal to ask again about what sort of diet changes could help my condition. Which started rounds of phone tag with the office, once I got on a call with someone from the office the message I had call four separate times to receive was "Avoid soy and consume less seafood." No reading materials or websites to understand more. I asked the person on the line, "Is that really it?". They answered with "Is your question answered?" I said "I guess so", and they HUNG UP on me instead of asking for clarity or seeing if I had more questions. A couple months before the second appointment I received a voicemail from the office to confirm I still wanted it. When I called back the same day a different person answered and said they had no record of that appointment so I had to make a new one for an additional month later. I had labs done for something else and they ran my labs for this upcoming appointment without telling me. Usually you get thyroid labs done 7-10 days before the appointment and this was almost a month out. When they called me with results I was confused and told them that I knew my numbers would be off because I missed my medication that day as I was running late in the morning so I asked them to ensure there were thyroid lab orders ready for me , they said they could do that. When I went to get my thyroid labs done I was told there was no lab order for me so I called the endocrinology office who said they already had my results. I told them why the results were off and how I had asked for a second round of lab orders to be written. They said they never got that message and since my appointment was within the 7-10 days they wouldn't have the proper results and I needed to reschedule. This was my last straw. I cancelled the appointment stating I didn't feel heard or cared for as a patient and no one ever followed up with me to learn why or how they could improve as an office. It's unfortunate that there is a slim pool of endocrinologists in New Hampshire.

Dr. Mahata is amazing. She's caring, thorough, responsive, and really knows her stuff. She made me feel like I was her only patient at times which is quite remarkable given how extremely busy the office is.

She is wonderful. She is young and intelligent. She explained everything to me patiently and let me ask questions. She was very quick to call me herself with my results.

Dr. Mahata is very kind...Im the type of person who dont feel comfortable around most people and she made me feel very comfortable and smile frequently...I always have a good experience everytime I go to this office and have been going here for years...I wouldnt go anywhere else! She was very empathetic to the fact that because of my hormone imbalance I cant have children and extremely informative on what I need to change in my lifestyle and eating habbits if I ever want to concieve and reassured me that she would do whatever she can to help me reach my goal. Dr. Mahata is GREAT!!

Dr. Mahata is a wonderful endocrinologist. She is very thorough and also very friendly and kind.
