When i walked into Dr. Vaimakis office in Teaneck NJ , I was greeted by the most warm and caring office staff including Dr. Vaimakis. It’s like old times, when the Dr. really gets to know the patient and truly cares about you. I explained the issues that I encounter regarding weight loss and Dr. Vaimakis completely was empathetic . She took a conservative approach to help me and made me feel that there is a chance for me to conquer my bad eating habits. I highly recommend Dr. Vaimakis. She is down to earth and very dedicated to helping her patients overcome their weight related problems.

Where do I begin. Sadly I find myself increasingly surprised by this office. I thought if I went to New Jersey there would be a different caliber of people because I was coming from Brooklyn. To begin I made an appointment for a consultation. On the day of the consultation one and a half hours before someone from the office called and said the doctor had an emergency i needed to be there within a half hour or they had to reschedule. The other time of one hour slot was already taken by another appointment. I frantically left my job.....thank god my coverage had come early....and drove really fast trying to get there within that unreasonable time frame. I kept saying to my self well if it was a true emergency wouldn't the doctor have gone immediately??? I made it in time miraculously! ?Had the consult.... and was told approved for the procedure. They told me i had one week to get all the testing done and procedure would be scheduled for 5 days from then. All week hit every obstacle and stress trying to get the tests accomplished, and they were. The day of the procedure came I had taken all the preliminary medications, and was just waiting for time to pass to leave to go to the procedure. About 2 hours before the scheduled time I receive a phone call from the office not the doctor telling me that they saw that i had a tear in my stomach so I was no longer a candidate for the surgery, and the Dr. could no longer help me, and that I probably should just leave it because it didn't bother me. I hung up the phone absolutely devastated. Not only did the surgery that i was counting on and planning and making myself crazy for was just pulled right from under me. But a feeling of absolute hopelessness came across me.How could I have been approved before all test results were read. This was a complete play on my emotions if nothing else. This was a Friday. Monday called back asked to speak with the Dr. because I had hoped she could fix the tear and then possibly do the original surgery. Well of course had someone from the office return the call NOT the Dr. They were trying to see whether my insurance would cover the repair of the stomach. Two days later the Office manager someone else from the office NOT the Dr. calls me and tells me my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure and hinted that the Dr. Did not really feel it was necessary. But if I insisted on trying to find a new doctor she would email all of my test results to me. Naturally I said yes. Here is where it gets even better. I get the results print them out and I look at them. I used to work in a hospital so I was able to read and understand what was said. Yes on the scan of the belly it stated a tear. But to my absolute surprise my blood work was scary. My pressure was 202 over 130.......borderline diabetic.......cholesterol 279. Basically dangerously high. Was anyone in the office ever going to mention any of this to me. I already could assume the Dr was never planning on speaking to me again. The one office member who was very nice to me previously would not get on the phone again after I called to ask why no one mentioned any of this to me only a tear in my stomach which seemingly at this time was really so unimportant in comparison. I really am dumbfounded at the gross negligence and really total lack of caring from the entire staff and doctor of this office. I can assume now .....this was a blessing because according to the paperwork I may not have made it through any procedure and it definitely would have had nothing to do with a tear!

Am very happy with my life, I was always sick ..taking so many pills...my life has change for the best..Thank you Doctor and Staff...God bless

The staff is wonderful and Dr Vaimakis is the sweetest doctor thanks for changing my life and keeping it that way.

Best in the business, bar none!!! Dr. V and her partners, Dr. Fredericks and Dr. Innace are all amazing, knowledgeable, highly trained physicians, and I am SO glad I chose their practice for my lap band surgery. They really walk you though it step by step, they follow up after the surgery and through your whole progress, and it is much appreciated. The support staff there is AMAZING, especially the office manager, Thomas, who I am proud and honored to now call a friend. Thank you for all you do, and keep up the great work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
