I just left my dad's appointment with Dr. Nayak. This is the physician that gave him the horrifying news, 6 months ago, that he had Lung Cancer. Throughout those initial weeks of testing and imaging leading up to his surgery, she was a vessel of God; working miracles in ways I doubt she even knew. She, personally, assembled a team consisting of the best Oncologist and Thoracic Surgeon I could imagine. Together, these 3 physicians worked their Science into a miracle and 6 months after my Dad was diagnosed with Cancer, he is healthier than I ever dreamed he would be!  Because of her, my dad was able to walk into her office this afternoon. More than that; because of her (and as she humbly pointed out, because of God), I was able to hug my dad when we parted this afternoon and tell him "I'll see you this weekend" with absolute confidence that I will!  THAT is a sentiment in itself that I feared I had lost in those dark early weeks, 5-6 months ago. There are no words to express what this beautiful human means to me and to our family. For me, she was (and is) a source of knowledge, wisdom, strength and compassion. But to my dad; to the world; she is a hero!
