I have been extremely happy with Dr Akbar and his staff since I became a patient there in Sept 2016. All options were explained to me for the treatment of my knee. In Feb 2017 I had Total Knee Replacement surgery and am 8 weeks post op and progressing very well. I am thankful that I had such a skilled surgeon that has eliminated the pain from my knee and given me back the active lifestyle I am used to. There were no suprises about what would happen before, during or after surgery as it was all explained to me with a kind caring manner.

I had back surgery on March 8th. I knew nothing about the Dr before that. My first meeting with him was very positive. The next day I decided that surgery was the best for my back. I am now recuperating. It is a long time to recuperate but it has to be that way. At least this will help to keep me from being in a wheel chair. Dr explained about the surgery and why it was preferred. The staff was very helpful. I definitely would recommend him to anyone who needs back surgery,

Dr.Akbar shared his expertice with me on Nov. 1, 2016. Dr. Akbar operated on my lower spine, replaced eroded bone with bone from my hip, fused a couple of vertabrae and took care of the spinal stenous.  After healing at home for 10 weeks, it was good to get back to work. Dr. had me in a brace for six months and that was a big help in healing. Dr. and his staff have taken excellent care of me, every single person on his staf including Dr., have so much compassion and concern for me, the patient. The same can be said for the medical staff and pastoral care at St. Mary's.  My quality of life is improved so much!  I no longer rely on pain meds, 2 aspirin a day is all I take.  I don't wake up in the crying in the night because I tried to turn over. Life is enjoyable again. Thanks be to God and Dr. Akbar. Peace.

Dr. Akbar and his staff as well as St Mary's in Saginaw get 5 stars because I can't give more. Had a full knee replacement followed his recommendations to the letter and had no complications. I was on the fast track to recovery. Everyone I know commented how well I was doing in such a short time. Thank You!

A very compassionate man.  explains everything and answers all questions.  Doesn't rush you into surgery but explains when it is necessary.  He has excellent staff.  If you have any follow up questions they get back to you promptly.  all services were good.  We would recommend him to anyone in need.  I will go back to him shortly for my second knee replacement.  Years of putting up with knee pain gone in a few months.  Thank you "Doctor" and staff.       Walter
