Dropcloth will offer an open canvas to people looking to find creativity and expand their knowledge of art.
Our aim is to work with children and adults of different ages with the aim of creating a community of artist that grow with the studio as we grow as an art studio in the community.
Our approach is to develop curriculums that will help children with the cognitive skills they require to be successful in both academics and personal projects. Young people who participate in art are more likely to be:
• Recognized for academic achievement
• 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance
• Participate in youth groups nearly four times as frequently
• Read for pleasure nearly twice as often
• Perform community service more than four times as often
We will also cater to young adults and adults looking to gain a better understanding of traditional and digital arts. Or high school Students looking to develop art portfolios to gain entrance into a university or private art college. Finally we will also work with professionals looking to find ways to push their skill level or learn something new to help develop a new skill.
Again our aim is to promote art and create a positive environment for artist of all ages to express their creativity.

Art has many different faces from traditional to graphic and now digital it has always fascinated and given inspiration to young children as well as adults. An art studio traditionally has been a place of ideas and creativity giving everyone an opportunity to be an artist no matter what level of expertise they may have. The idea behind Dropcloth will offer an open canvas to people looking to find creativity and expand their knowledge of art.
At Dropcloth we are always looking to help our students gain professional experience by giving them access to industry Q&A sessions that gives them an opportunity to interact with creative professionals in the fine arts industry, animation industry and game industry.
Some of the companies I have had the pleasure of working with to create the mixers and bring the free workshops and Q&A sessions have been The Walt Disney Company, WB Games, Pixar, Obsidian Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Cosmic Toast Studios, Renegade Studios, Titmouse Studios, and Dreamworks.
In the past two years we have hosted sessions with industry professionals at different location in the East Side of Los Angeles with the aim of brining industry to inner city kids and industry professionals who need the access but don’t have a financial way of attending paid industry events.
Coming from an inner city background and being financially challenged as a young artist I was always humbled by the generosity of other professionals in my field and promised myself that f given the opportunity I would find a way to give back to young professionals looking to gain knowledge about something that has been my passion for the last 30 plus years of my life. Our industry sessions are free to anyone interested in the Arts, Animation, or the game industry.
