Drunken Monkey is one of my favorite sushi places. My boyfriend and I always plan on going here whenever we're in the Tahoe area. The wait staff is always warm and friendly even when the restaurant is super busy and the food is delicious. Our favorite roll is the golden tail black dragon which has mango in it that wonderfully compliments the savory flavor of the fresh fish in the roll. The restaurant has a great ambiance and I would definitely recommend.

Delicious food in a nice little spot in Truckee. Unfortunately its not on the main drag which means you dont get the classic 'Truckee vibe' but the extra is worth it. They serve japanese dishes with a twist in addition to sushi. The ribs are to die for, as is their calamari. They also have very unique cocktails which is always fun to see.

This is a fantastic restaurant! The sushi is of the highest quality and delicious. We tried some of the appetizers and tapas and were thrilled.

Be patient when their busy...
Food is great. Don't be one of those out of towners who complain because they have to wait... You know who you are

We usually stop by Drunken Monkey when going through Truckee. The usual orders are agedashi tofu, kyushu ramen and some sushi. Tonight wasn't really any different. I changed it up a little by ordering the Mochiko chicken and Kim chee. It was very tasty. We also ordered some black cod sushi that I haven't tried before. Maybe not my favorite, but it was still good. My wife had a very salad that she hasn't tried before. I can't really comment on it as I don't care for beets. My son had a spicy tuna hand roll to go with his ramen and it must have been good as it was gone pretty quick. The only downside is it is popular and or wait time lb a Sunday night was over an hour for a party of 3.  Still once we were seated and or order was taken the food came out super fast and was all hot. A+ for that.
