Durango KOA Holiday

About

Camp in Durango, Colorado only 15 minutes from downtown where you ride the famous Durango Silverton Train.

Story

Just a short drive from this mountain sports town and the depot for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, the Durango KOA provides a panoramic view of the jagged San Juan Mountains. At an elevation of 7,000 feet, this piñon-shaded campground atop a mesa makes for comfortably cool summer nights. In season, wake up to buttermilk pancakes or strawberry & cream waffles served at the Kaboose Kafe every morning. In the evening, fresh made pizza can be delivered to your site. The dessert bar has sundaes, root beer floats and fresh baked pies. Join in the fun with nightly movies, weekly duck races, mini golf, a heated pool and kids' activities. Pick fresh herbs from Carol's garden for your favorite camping meal. Lodging choices include basic Cabins to the all-out comfort of Lodges. Several outfitters guide kayak and whitewater raft outings on the Animas River. Make Durango KOA your base camp for Mesa Verde National Park, only an hour's drive away.

This KOA is probably the nicest campsite that I have come across. The facilities are immaculate and the staff is pleasant, courteous and friendly. Everybody seems to take immense pride in their jobs. Rest rooms/showers are spotless as is all other areas of the park. I was Impressed enough to extend my visit for an additional day. I'll be coming back soon.

Amazing experience here! I wish we would've planned our whole trip here (: beautiful scenery, bathrooms were clean and the cabin was just enough for us! The little store had an awesome supply and their pie is to die for.

This is the best KOA we've visited. The facilities are impeccably clean, cabins are gorgeous, staff is friendly and helpful. The sites are nicely spaced and well maintained. It seems like a lot of thought and love goes into running this place.

This KOA was one of the best I have been to when it comes to camping. They have little fences that separate you from the other campers to give more privacy. That also enhances the feel of being in nature while still being in an improved campground. Facilities were clean and they serve breakfast (additional cost) out of a fun caboose restaurant.
