Recently phoned for help regarding animal neglect/abuse. Office answered phone multiple times efficiently and routed an officer immediately even though my phone kept dropping. Officer was helpful, showed real concern for the animal and measured/non negative attitude toward absent owner and focused on health and well being of animal, while informing us of possible next steps the dept and animal control could help with to insure public and animal safety and health. Very pleased with this interaction.

Sheriff Mike Andrews has shown himself to be an impotent politician. Scared of his own shadow. No spine to stop crime when it occurs right in front of his face. He is an embarrassment to good Law Enforcement Officers everywhere.

Duty bound to protect public property- The Whole department has failed. I'll never visit this city!

Veteran. Military expected to handle National Defense. Sheriff's Department expected to maintain law and order at home. Not done in Aug 2017 demonstrations. 100% behind law enforcement. Review specific to Aug 2017. Disappointed.

No backbone to protect the citizens of Durham. By far the sorry excuse of a dept the county of Durham has ever had. The sheriff sits back and allows criminals to run amuck due to his political views.
