I have lived in Dutchess County my entire life the rail trail and bridge is one of the best things in this area I just started to use the trail for bike riding and it's great wish I would have done it sooner can't wait for the expansion in Highland I would recommend the rail trail to anyone that is capable of using it.

It's a rail trail it therefore it's mostly flat, not for the abitious rider. Good for entry level riders and anyone looking for safe day of cycling or walking.

The good: awesome trail (long, smooth, quiet, no traffic) 
The bad: weeds and high grass at every intersection, no lines or arrows on pavement to direct users, no signs that remind people of the rules,

It's a great ride, very clean, lots of people and activity.

Love going to the rail trail.  Great place to get some fresh air, take a bike ride or a walk!
