The staff were pleasant and efficient. It is a busy office in a strip shopping center. The process of getting my drivers license and car registered was quick. As long as you have your required documents before you arrive it is an easy process.

I have been dealing with the Downtown Tax Collector's office for about 2 years now. I normally go through the dealer department because of my job. I have found that depending on the day you go in, and the people you see, you can either have a very pleasant encounter, or one of the worst encounters of your life. I don't understand why, in this day in age, and with the amount of pleasant natured individuals out there trying to find a job, they would have the worst bunch of people in this office. I have been in customer service, even worked for the Tax Collector's office in Palm Beach County for 4 1/2 years, and never encountered such a bad tempered bunch in my life. There are a few, 3 or 4, in this office that are awesome. But, it seems like every other person that works there is rude, without reason. Come on Duval County! Fix the issue with your employees! Don't just shrug off complaints, because most of them are valid!

Super slow everyone that works here is 65+ years old. Younger more driven persons would be more efficient. Been here for over an hour and there's only 10 people waiting in here. It's ridiculous.

I'm absolutely done with this stupid pathetic place. I've come here since I've been 15 years old and I''m currently 22 at the moment. This dump hasn't changed at all and it's still the same constant slow pace DMV that makes people wait on average 1-3 hours for a freaking license renewal, or any other type of paperwork. But what really made me angry (Which is the main reason why I'm writing this review) is the fact that today I had to change shifts at work in order for me to come to the DMV quite early (Around 7:30 am). But they only have one small sign that says they're close and they'll be open on Tuesday October 10th. I mean seriously??!!! Why CAN'T THEY UPDATE THEIR STUPID HOURS ONLINE? Like honestly, who manages your Google Business?? I'm also fed up with the staff. Very FEW are actually efficient and are willing to help you. The rest are there just for a paycheck and do a horrible job at it. I'm beyond upset and honestly, whoever manages this DMV should be fired. This place needs to hire younger people that actually CARE AND THAT ARE WILLING TO WORK AND HELP others. Simple paperwork CANNOT TURN INTO A 2-3 hour wait. That's absolutely ABSURD!!!

I expect to have a lengthy wait when I come to the Tax Collector's office. What I don't expect is a woman at the "Greeter's Desk" to be rude. She acts surprised and slightly irritated every time someone walks in the door. Isn't that why your here? Is it asking to too much for her to say "I'm sorry" while delivering the news? Rather than sighing every time says, "that's fine I'll wait". I also watched as a young man (probably 15 years old) spoke to her about getting his Learner's Permit. When he didn't understand the process and asked for clarification, she got short with him. Ma'am, he's 15! Do you really think he's going to understand your complicated process?! He was only seeking clarification. The attitude is just too much.
