Love to see that after being closed for so long due to the rona, they made it back. Great service, food and drinks. Will become regulars. Sadly, a lot of weirdos around the area. But that’s just downtown. Update 8/11/2022 Came again. We sat down for 15 minutes, we got passed several times and no one would help us. Or greet us. Or apologies to us. Only two employees, the other one was too busy socializing and the second lady would just completely ignore us. What a shame. Place was not even packed, there’s no excuse to ignore us for such a long time.
The staff was very friendly, the food was great, and they have good beer! We just moved from SF and we were looking for some good local places to eat. We randomly picked this brewery and we weren’t disappointed. I got the El Diablo burger which had excellent flavor and we dipped the garlic fries in the chipotle aioli! My Dad got the fish and chips and my wife got the shrimp tacos which were to die for! If you’re in the mood for some good bar food or a beer while you watch a game try it out!
Always great food, beer selection and service. I've been here a few times since moving to Concord and it's always good vibes. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, appetizers to share, or various beer choices to drink through. Plenty of parking across the street or in the parking garage and lots of seating options bar open seating, booths, tables and outdoor seating. A good spot to hangout, catch a game on the bar TV or try a new beer.
This is my third visit at this location and I've enjoyed myself every time. The wait staff is very nice, attentive and accommodating. It's hard to go to many locations with a stroller and a big group but this EJ Phair never disappoints. I will also say that my sister and mother are very hard to please. My mom expects generous portions with equal amounts of flavor. I can never seem to take her anywhere where she is pleased but she loves this location! My sister is very picky and can never seem to just order something on the menu. Instead she has to order something and completely make it her own. For example she ordered the Thai Salad with no cabbage, only romaine and substituted the coconut dressing. As picky as my sister is, EJ takes it all down and makes her order to her satisfaction! Well done on pleasing two very difficult women. Besides the staff and service, the food and drinks are equally as delicious. At this location we've shared appetizers that include: Beer battered potstickers and garlic fries, and we've enjoyed salads and burgers. My mother doesn't even call this place by its name, she instead will ask, "Can we go to the place with the amazing burger!?" We all know she's talking about EJ Phair. Although my sister and mother don't drink alcohol, my husband and I do and we definitely enjoy the different brews. EJ Phair is everything I want in a brewery, comfortable, casual vibe and a good time. There are so many different places to try but when I come home to the east bay, I always seem to want to visit EJ.
E.J Phair is more of a brew pub than a brewery. I made a special trip to Concord to try and buy house made beers. Instead, they have shifted to guest beers on tap. Inside is brightly lit with hardwood floors and brick walls; in a clean and spacious brew pub vibe. My salad was fresh and flavorful. There is an outdoor seating area that overlooks Todos Santo Square. This is a great date spot. Grab a chair at the bar or choose one of the tall bar tables by the window. Grab a cold adult beverage and an appetizer. If the date is going well, head out back of the restaurant to Salvio Pacheco Square and sit by one of the fountains. It's the perfect spot for that first kiss . IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY
I had a few beers while waiting for food to go. There was a nice selection of local beers on tap, as well as in bottles. The bartender was a nice enough guy, but he did not know anything about the menu. Each time I asked a question he had to run to the kitchen to get the answer. Hence I had beers, plural, while I waited. I had never eaten hear before and I was picking up food to take to a sick family member. I went with the sausage trio and mashed potatoes. The sausage selection rotates and that day they were all chicken varieties. The were all very tasty and tender. There was a ground mustard sauce poured over everything which complemented each sausage well. The mashed potatoes weren't special but they didn't let me down. I would order it again to try different sausage flavors. My friends ordered the fish 'n chips and said they were great
I had a bit of a wait because they brought me the wrong order. However, the wait was well worth it. Their tuna burger was probably the best one I've ever had. Will 100% come back for another.
This is a great place to go to after seeing a movie right up the street at the Brenden Theater. Good beers although lately they have been trending more towards IPA and not as many of their very nice stouts. This site has a different menu than their brewery; here you get things like burgers, nachos, potstickers, etc. I miss the pizzas they make at the brewery but overall this site has a more varied menu with more choices. One of our favorite places to go.
This is a decent place. The decor could use a refresh though. The beer is decent, the burger and fries I got were also decent. But that's really all I can say about it. I wasn't unhappy, but I'm not going to seek it out. Which isn't what I wrote about their Pittsburg location oddly enough. The service was ok as well, but the bartender didn't seem to look in our direction particularly often.
Fun, good service, good food We stop here a couple of times a month when we're passing through Concord. The food never disappoints. My husband always gets the schnitzel. He loves it! The service is fast as well.
