Story

EagleBank Arena (formerly Patriot Center) features Mason's men's and women's basketball games, concerts, family shows, commencements and high school graduations each year. The arena is managed by Monumental Sports & Entertainment and opened on Oct. 4, 1985. On May 7, 2015, an announcement was made to reflect a new name for the arena, EagleBank Arena. The announcement is part of a 10-year educational partnership between George Mason and Eagle Bank that also includes a new naming rights agreement for the arena.

Have been to three shows here. Prophets of rage, Tool, and A Perfect Circle. I do not recall for the first show, but at Tool, half or more of the water fountains were marked as out of order, the rest had the pressure so low you had to put you lips on them to drink - this is on purpose so you cant fill a container and have to buy over priced water. In addition, for the tool show, half the concession stands were closed causing long lines. At the perfect Circle show, the water fountains were full pressure, but each bank of 4 fountains had 3 of the blocked by the merch booth, even though there was plenty of other space further down. The remaining fountain was mostly hidden and blocked by the side of the booth. The paper towel dispensers in the bathroom were full but turned off with no manual feed. I go to a lot of concerts. This is by far he worst venue I have been to. I am not even counting the security issues (this is a result of the band pushing no camera rules, so not the arenas fault) or drunken fratboys against the score. I won't be going back to a show here.

The venue itself is pretty good, nothing special I'd say. Staff is helpful. The fast food is as bad as it is at any other similar venue :-) The Disney on ice show was awesome, highly recommended for kids 5 to 10 and all the Disney princess fans.

Terrible accoustics. Sound levels for concerts are so loud that it is compressed and as a result lacks clarity and depth. Their sound system seems insufficient for the size of the venue. Speakers were vibrating with distortion at the volumes being used. I also noticed the sound person was wearing ear plugs and was curious if anyone was monitoring the live mix. The band played well which made the lack of sound quality even more unfortunate. I won't be returning to this venue.

I was here recently for a women's conference and was pleasantly surprised by the dedicated parking and even more so by the perfect size of the arena. It is big enough to accommodate many people, but still smaller & cozier in comparison to other arenas or centers that I have been to. It made for a more enjoyable experience to feel closer to the event that was taking place.
