Waited here with my grandfather in the ER for hours. No liquids were provided for him even after asking repeatedly, then they managed to misplace his treatment orders. Would have been better off at home. Choose another hospital if you have the opportunity.

So, I have migraines.  I have had migraines since I was 5.  And as I got older they have gotten worse.  Especially around shark week.  That's what I call it.  So last night, I have the worst one ever.  Practically doing gymnastics in the bed, impossible to lay still, almost pretty much yelling in pain, vomiting... so I do what I hate doing and haven't done in years, I go to ECM, the ER. Why don't I go? 1. The Bill. 2. They treat you live a convict / drug addict.  Why did I ever think last night was going to be any different? Maybe because I was in so much excruciating pain I did not have a choice.  I do, doctor insisting on holding a conversation with me as I was vomiting repeated ... they speak to me 10 feet away so I would not hear them... said they would put an IV in.. Oh, wait , for once relief? But no... they give me only benadryl  and something for nausea. They said the could not give me anything unless I let them do a CT scan.  I said I did not want a CT scan.  They said have I ever seen a neurologist. Well of course.  Let me count on my fingers and toes how many... and while I'm at it I'll count on my fingers and toes how many CT's and MRI's Ive had, and, no many I'm sure my brain glows in the dark.  But since they say I won't follow their advice and get a CT I am pretty much written down as a patient not working with the Dr's, and I have to sign a form that I am refusing their advice.. all along moaning and yelling in pain still... and they still refuse to treat my pain all because I do not want a CT. Although I explain the reason for my migraine that night.  that I get hormonal migraines. All they had to do was call my primary and get all my CT and MRI results.  Pretty easy, and medical history...  at the end they give me two Fioricets and send me packing,... all the while moaning in excruciating pain out the ER.. I could barely walk I was in so much pain.  Dr's say oath... "Do no harm"  well they dam well don't do any good either".  Why are there opioid deaths? Because people are forced to treat themselves because Dr's refuse to help.  No, that's not the only reason.  But it's part.  I would have rather offed myself them go through that pain. Not often have I had a migraine hurt sooo bad.  And you go and ask someone for help.  The only one that can help you, and they turn their back on you.  Thanks ECM. Thanks for nothing.  Your a credit to your "whatever the hell you do".
