To start, let be crystal-clear that if there was a "0" star option, that is what they would receive. Arrived on our way home from up north late at night, tired, irritable, and thankful for somewhere to catch a few hours of sleep before driving the rest of the way home to Fl. During check-in, I requested a smoke-free room for my family and was promptly given a rude attitude by the chain-smoking woman who claims to be the manager and "only employee." (Asked for manager AND owners contact info--- She insisted that I'd NEVER get ahold of the owner) Entered my room, which smelled of stale tobacco, and unloaded my vehicle just to notice that the fridge was not working. Picked up the phone to let them know --- not even a dial tone. Then saw that the smoke alarm was dangling from the wall. Walked back down to the desk where I was snapped at once again but offered a room across the hall. Moved my belongings and family to said room, only to learn that the AC was not operational. Went back downstairs complaining, and was told I could not receive a refund unless I left right then. It was midnight. Asked for yet another room, and was greeted in turn by arguments, excuses, and was told I could go somewhere else, "if I wanted." Finally looked at the next room--- fair enough at first glance. Upon further observation, shower walls/drain and tub faucet had a disgusting coating of scum on them - didn't even want to give my son a bath in it. Room was 90 degrees upon entering, and took three hours to cool down. My child cried the whole time we waited for the room to cool off. Upholstery on chairs was stained, one towel was clean while the other was that yellow-stained. Carpets were clearly not vacuumed, bugs crawling on curtains, food crumbs on floor and on top of the fridge. Could tell that nothing had been wiped down in AT LEAST a week. Room was allegedly 74.something a night, plus 10 a piece for my dogs.. this would come to around 94 dollars, yet i was charged "100 even." All we really needed was a safe, clean place to sleep for the six hours we stopped for. To say the least, I was overcharged which is stealing, talked back and spoken to rudely to when requesting changes or help, AND the employee was complaining about me IN FRONT OF ME to another customer who seemed to be standing at the desk socializing with her every time I walked down. Might I add that I will be filing an official complaint and contacting the owner today. I'm sure I've missed a few details, but all in all it was an atrocious experience for my entire family and a waste of a hundred dollar bill. We do NOT recommend even looking in this motel's direction, let alone stopping there.

Very friendly service but that's about the only positive. The hallways and lobby have a strange and unpleasant odor. The outside stairwell was filthy. The TV in the room was easily 20 years old, with only basic cable. I kept getting bumped off the internet. No coffee in the room. I woke up with a back ache which lasted through the day. And to top it off, the breakfast left much to be desired and the orange juice was rancid. Not a pleasant place to stay. Following night I stayed at a Super 8 for the same price and it was head and shoulders above this place. Ughh

Awful customer service! Tried to grab a room at the end of the night, 11pm, we got caught in a lightning storm and just needed to wait it out for a bit with our 3 small children but they kept telling us we would need 2 rooms. No thanks, your shanty motel isn't worth the money to begin with

Awful. Plain and simple. The beds are old and torn. Forget the pillows. They are unusable. No blanket. The TV is from the 90's. Paint peeling off a wall. A lamp doesn't work. I could go on and on... Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. I chose this hotel because I stayed at the Econo in Fayetteville, NC at Exit 98 last night. It was a little slice heaven. Wonderful. What a disappointment. I thought it was a chain---with standards. Sadly they are individually owned. In my opinion the owner of this one couldn't care less about their guests. It's all about the money. This one is 40.00 more a night.
