**NEVER GO HERE** read all

So I booked online because it was a very cheap option for a car rental (I’ve never rented a car from Pearson before). I tried calling after booking to mention I had an infant with me because I read in the instructions that they pick me up from viscount station. 
They said I can add one when I get there and hung up. 
So when I got there, I walked to the typical car rental spot realizing it wasn’t in that area, I had to take the train to the viscount station. Then I called the economy rental and they sent a pick-up shuttle. 
And sure enough, someone shows up in a Jeep, with NO car seat. So they drove my son and I to the rental shop with my son in my lap which is a disgrace. 
Then when I got there, they charged me a $500 deposit on my credit card instead of the $70 it said it would cost me from my online booking. 

The car I got had 1/2 tank of fuel in it! And it had a dent in the front bumper.. and the engine light was on as well!

When I asked for a car seat, the guy acted all surprised and went into the back and grabbed a junk car seat that was dirty, old and assembled wrong! The guy threw it in the back seat and said have a good day. 

So I spent the next 20 minutes out there trying to put the straps in the right spot and get it spoilers installed in the car (it was missing the rear facing straps, so I had to mount it front facing using the seat belt). 

Then when I returned the car, the guy just walked outside, saw the car and said “ok, bye”. 
I then asked for a finalized receipt, and he looked at me blank for awhile and said they would email one to me. Then hey shuttled my son and I back to the viscount WITHOUT A CAR SEAT FOR MY SON AGAIN!

Then within an hour, instead of being refunded the remainder of my $500 they originally charged me, they charged me $147 for the rental which was supposed to be $70!! (I also purchased $90 car insurance externally before renting, so that it just the rental price that was doubled from the quote price). 

And I have no idea how long it will take for them to refund the money they charged me. 

I have beer written a review and I’m not one to complain about stuff... but this was by far the most unacceptable business I have ever dealt with. 
I will never and recommend no one ever use them! Please avoid their service.

There needs to be a 0 star rating for this place. 

My $80 rental ended up costing $200. Mileage was fixed instead of unlimited. I had insurance on my credit card but they refused it. When I discussed this with the guy he twice handed back my license and credit card and told me I don't have to rent a car. I asked him what the total charge would be and he wouldn't tell me. It was "whatever I paid online plus insurance". There was no total amount on the receipt he printed for me -- just an authorization for $500. When I pressed further to have him quickly itemize the charges and give me a total he told me I'd have to get out of line and wait for him to serve everyone first. 

When I brought the car back the guy in the lot gave me trouble about a scratch that was already indicated when I picked up the car. He ended up "doing me a favor" and let it slide. I overheard the lady ahead of me had got a car with no wiper fluid. She bought some to fill the car and they grilled her about the cost/receipts/payment for it. 

Expect to pay more than what you booked online. Expect gruff and perfunctory service. Take photos/video! when you pick up the car. These guys rely on the fact you've had to make the trip to the airport/viscount parking/shuttle and have no alternative than to accept their crap. 

Genuinely bad experience and will never rent here again.

Beware of surprise charges mentioned below and contact them in advance to make sure you know what you'd have to pay extra for. 
I personally prefer not dealing with surprises so I would rate them very low. It sucks to come off a long flight thinking your car that you got a good deal for is ready only to get surprise charges.
A total waste of my time.

The staff is always grumpy because of so many upset customers for surprise charges. 
Some surprise charges I found out about were as follows: 
-They ask for your own insurance. If you don't bring your own insurance, the rental price will be a lot more than you thought. $29/day for collision damage and $12/day for liability. 
-they have border crossing fees 13/day. So if you plan on going to the states using their car, keep that in mind.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE! I made a reservation for a minivan for 2 days on Feb 2 and when I arrived to pick up the rental car they said that they don't have any minivan's available. What?!? I made a reservation, the whole point of the reservation is to keep the car at the lot. This felt like that Seinfeld episode where Jerry was at the rental car place. Seems like they know how to "take" a reservation, but they don't know how to "hold" it. This completely ruined my weekend plans. I'll be taking this to consumer protection to ensure no one else gets screwed over by these scumbags. These a-holes need to be put in their place.

What irritates me is that because they've setup their location at the airport,  a lot of foreign visitors will arrive at their place to rent a car and will essentially be one of their first points of contact to Canada. This leaves a VERY poor impression of Toronto/Canada.

DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM Economy Car Rental in Mississauga. Incurred a $5 camera charge and $1.33 highway toll charges. No way to pay for this at the time as no toll booth, only camera. Therefore, company charged $50.00 admin fee for only $6.33 in toll charges, resulting in a a total charge by Economy Car Rental of $72.51. Ridiculous amount to be charged for such small toll fees. I would be happy to pay the toll charges but not the exorbitant admin fee as there was no way to pay the tolls at the time of driving the vehicle. Contacted them by phone and email to resolve with no response. Feel this is an obvious cash grab/scam by Economy Car Rental and a good example of an unethical business practice. I have never been charged admin fees for tolls. 
I had an insurance and I also bought extra insurance just in case and additional to that they charged me some another their insurance like I need to insure a car triple. Such a thief. On top of that they hold deposit of $500 for two weeks after returning a car. This should take max 3 days. Totally unprofessional and only looking to squeeze every dollar out of you, no matter how unscrupulous.
