The Ector County Health Department provides services for Immunizations, Food, Sanitation, Water Quality, Waste Water Control, and as well as other services
The Ector County Health Department is responsible for the development, integration and coordination of communicable disease control activities, environmental and consumer health protection programs, and public health promotion in Ector County.
These community health services include the containment of vaccine preventable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis and food-borne illnesses.
Food service sanitation, environmental enforcement, water quality, waste water control, vector control, and the investigation of sanitation complaints are environmental health services performed by Ector County Health Department personnel.
The Water Quality Program is responsible for the following activities:
• Reviewing the design of on-site sewage systems (OSSFs)
• Inspecting new OSSFs
• Inspecting public and semi-public swimming pools annually
• Educating swimming pool operators by conducting “Pool School” annually
• Investigating complaints
• Checking properties with new electrical connections for proper septic systems
• Interpreting Water Well Samples for homeowners
• Educating homeowners
