About Chesney's Jewelry, Gifts of Distinction, since 1924. Chesney's Jewelry was founded by an ambitious young man who had to borrow most of the original $325 purchase price. Ernest H. Chesney purchased the business from T. H. Causey. Story The store is located at 241 East Brazos Street in West Columbia, Texas. Ernest and Virginia worked this business together after their marriage in 1930. Mr. Chesney died in 1966 and Virginia continued working for many years. Donna Ruth Chesney Loggins has been owner since the early 1980's.
